Winslow Watson

Winslow Watson, 40, formerly of Selma, died recently in Detroit, Mich.

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2004, in Detroit, Mich.

Survivors include hid mother, Josie Hayes Watson of Selma; his twin brother, William Watson of Troy, Mich.; two sisters, Gwendolyn Hayes of Detroit, Mich., and Joyce Hayes of Selma; one uncle, Eligah Anderson of Detroit, Mich.; two aunts, Callie Wright and Jessie (Leon) Vickers all of Detroit, Mich.; eight nieces; seven nephews; a special cousin, Emma Eaton Lee of Selma; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mr. Watson was preceded in death by his father, Walter W. Watson, one brother, Jeffery Hayes, his grandmother, Mattie Anderson and grandfather, Jessie Anderson.

Robert Edwin Burcham

Robert Edwin “Bobby” Burcham, 42, of Selma, died Saturday, August 21, 2004.

Services are at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Dr. Kenny Hatcher officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his mother, Wilma Burcham; father, James Burcham; brothers, Sammy Burcham and Steve Burcham; sisters, Susan Chavers and Cindy Burcham; brothers-in-law, Billy Chavers and Daniel Bender; three nieces; two nephews; and several grand nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers are Bubba Sanders, Karl Schiffer, Don Lester Jr., Billy Chavers and Steve Burcham.

Honorary pallbearers are James Burcham and Sammy Burcham.

Steven Wade Breland

Steven Wade Breland, 14, of Marion, died Friday, August 20, 2004, in Perry County.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 23, at New Canaan Holiness Church with the Rev. Ray Grantham and the Rev. Brian Consley officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Ivan Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing.

Survivors include his parents, Susan and Sammy Breland of Marion; maternal grandparents, Ann and Carl Knight of Bessemer; paternal grandparents Evie and Claude Breland of Marion; maternal great-grandmother, Dorothy Vines of Berry; paternal great-grandmother, Lucille Averette of Greensboro, a devoted uncle, Rickey Breland, uncles, Marvin Breland, Rocky Knight and Sam Johnson; and a number of cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ruby and Sam Johnson and great-grandfather, Floyd Knight; paternal great-grand fathers, Earl Ingram and Woodfin Breland and great-grandmother, Stella Mae Breland.

Active pallbearers were Shirley Aultman, Johnny Kynard, Jamie Fisher, Kevin Breland, Brandon Breland and Jason Fondren.

Honorary pallbearers were John Kynard, David Wheat, Johnny Kynard Logging, Hale County Cleaners, Max McCrary and Benjamin McCrary.

Micheal Brown

Micheal Brown, 29, of Selma, died Friday, August 20, 2004.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, August 28, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife Cherise Brown; mother, Dorothy Brown; one son, Micheal Brown Jr.; three brother, Dennis Brown, Micheal Brown and Henry Lewis Brown; six sisters, Annie Brown, Debra Ann Blevin, Maryann Turner, Barbara Sanders, Brenda Dianne Brown and Hendrietta Brown; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; 10 nieces; and 12 nieces.

Louise Barkley Ross

Louise Barkley Ross, 94, of Thomaston, died Sunday, August 22, 2004 in Sanford, Fla.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 25, at Thomaston Baptist Church in Thomaston. Burial will follow in Thomaston Cemetery in Thomaston with O’Bryant Funeral Home in Linden directing.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Ross (Marilou) of Leesburg, Fla.; daughter, Mary Hamilton (Ross) of Sanford, Fla.; four grandchildren, David Hamilton, Miriam Curl, Eddie Ross and Dianne Jennings and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Edward Eugene Ross.

Family visitation will be from 10:30-11 a.m. on Wednesday, at the church.

Victoria Glover

Victoria Glover, 88, of Selma, died Wednesday, August 18, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, at Summer Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. A.L. Allen officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one sister, Juanita Henderson; two grandchildren, Tony (Gloria) Burns and Linda Burns DeVaughn; five great-grandchildren; and one son-in-law, William Walker.

Active pallbearers are Deacons of Summer Grove Church and friends of the family.

Johnnie Monique Posey

Johnnie Monique Posey, died Thursday, August 19, 2004.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, August 27, at Little Canaan Primitive Baptist Church, 1325 Eugene Avenue, with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Bertha Hall Lee Reynolds

Berth Hall Lee Reynolds, 90, died Monday, August 23, 2004.
