To the editor:

The Selma Police Department’s Cops and Kids Day which was held this past Saturday, was an outstanding event due to the efforts and support of many local businesses, agencies and citizens.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sgt. Tommy Weber for his dedication and leadership in making this event more successful each year. All of these efforts would be meaningless without local citizens making the effort to participate each year. So thank you to all the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins who make Cops and Kids Day a priority for their families.

I’d also like to say a special word of thanks to The Selma Times-Journal, WHBB/WDXX radio stations and other media outlets for their coverage and promotion of Cops and Kids Day.
