Adolph Gerald DuBose, Sr.

Adolph Gerald DuBose, Sr., died on Thursday, June 10 at his home.

Services will be held on Thursday, June 17 at 10 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church in Minter, AL with Rev. Gary Crum officiating and Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Tabernacle Witness Cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elouise Delores Craig; three sons, Chaplain (MAJ) Adolph G. DuBose, Jr.

(Shirley) of Ft Knox, KY, Aubrey M. DuBose (Sonya) of Montgomery, AL, Roderick DuBose (Nancy) of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Cynthia DuBose-Blake (Bennie) of Baton Rouge, LA; three granddaughters, Kristy DuBose, Clairion DuBose and Rachel DuBose; five grandsons, Adolph DuBose, III, Anthony DuBose, Aubrey DuBose, II, DeMarcus DuBose and Bennie Blake, Jr.; four sister-in-laws, Mary DuBose of Detroit, MI, AL, Alberta Wallace of Jacksonville, FL, Dorothy Craig of Birmingham, AL; Sedonia McIntyre of Lancaster, PA; host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Maggie DuBose, a former wife for many years, who remained a dear friend.

Pallbearers will be Bennie L. Blake, Sr., Rev. Adolph G. DuBose, Jr., Anthony DuBose, Aubrey M. DuBose, II, Roderick C. DuBose, Leon Randolph, Junior Davis, Adolph G. DuBose, III, Aubrey M. DuBose, Sr., DeMarcus DuBose, Tomell DuBose, Daniel Reubin and Aristeen Sledge.

Flower bearers will be Rose Caldwell, Wyvonia Hale, Elma Randolph, Kristy DuBose, Pearline Moore, Renetter Randolph, Debra English, Era Patrick and Valerie Reubin.

Adolph G. DuBose, Sr. was born in Minter, AL, April 26, 1925 to the parentage of the late Major DuBose and Lula Juanita Hamilton. He departed this life Thursday, June 10 at his home. Mr. DuBose confessed Christ at an early age and joined the DuBose Chapel C.M.E. Church where he faithfully served as a Deacon. Upon closure of DuBose Chapel, he joined Ellwood A.M.E Church in Selma, where he served as a Deacon. He received his formal education from Knox Academy in Selma. Mr. DuBose delighted himself in giving of his time in volunteer services to the community and in any way he could to make others happy to relieve suffering.
