Shooting injures one

Derrick Ford, of Selma, was injured in a late night shooting on the corner of Philpot Avenue and Union Street.

Ford was riding in a maroon and gold custom Chevy with two friends when an unknown assailant shot Ford sometime shortly before 10:30 p.m.

None of the other passengers where injured, and it appeared the gunman only fired once.

The car’s driver immediately transported Ford to Vaughan Regional Hospital.

Ford’s condition is currently unknown, but at approximately 11 p.m. Ford was transported to Birmingham for further treatment via ambulance.
