Terrance VenDale Hatcher
Terrance VenDale Hatcher, 19, of Selma, died Sunday, May 2, 2004, at a local hospital.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 8, at Isabella M.B. Church with the Rev. Kelvin L. Cockrell Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Glover’s Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his parents, Glenn and Theresa Hatcher of Selma; one sister, Glenda Sherrell Hatcher of Tuscaloosa; grandparents, Corine Glover of Selma, Nathaniel and Janice Sanders of Sardis; great-grandparent, Al J. Hatcher of Camden; six aunts, Shirley Glover of Montgomery, Denise Hatcher of Sardis, Annette Brazil of Selma, Patricia (Larry) Melton of Oxford, Lakisa Henderson and Latasha Henderson of Selma; three uncles, Jessie (Bobbie) Minter of Sardis, Anthony (Tomekia) Henderson and Stevie Anderson all of Selma; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Active pallbearers are Mark West, Darnell Moorer, Gerald Moorer, Anthony Perkins, Antonio Perkins, Danyell Givans and Germicko McGuire.
Honorary pallbearers are O’Neal Ingram, Andrei Ingram, Demarius Ingram, Jimmie Vansandt, Roger Vansandt, Calvin Peoples and VonDerrick Smith.
Beatrice McLaughlin
Beatrice McLaughlin, died Thursday, April 29, 2004, at a Marion nursing home.
Services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 4, at Mt. Nebo AME Zion Church in Marion, with the Rev. Jerry James officiating.
Survivors include four sons, Walter L. McLaughlin (Mattie) of Alexandria, Va., Willie C. McLaughlin (Johnnie Lois) deceased, Eugene McLaughlin of Perry County Nursing Home in Marion and James W. McLaughlin (Delsie) of Virginia Beach, Va.; one sister, Annie Merl Smith of Mobile; and grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great- great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. McLaughlin was born on March 3, 1913 to the
late James and Azalee Woods in Marion. She became a member Mt. Nebo AME Church at a young age. She later married the late Vaughan McLaughlin.
She has been a resident of Southland nursing home for the last four years.
Margaret Watts
Margaret Watts, 78, of Marion, died Tuesday, April 27, 2004, at a hospital in Eutaw.
Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 6, at Trinity Baptist Church in Marion, with the Rev. B.L. Tucker officiating. Burial will follow in Hopewell Cemetery in Marion.
James B. Davidson
James B. “Dave” Davidson, 62, died Tuesday, May 4, 2004.
Services are at 10 a.m., Friday, May 7, at Valley Grande Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Chappelle and Rev. George Jones officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Selma Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Edwards Davidson of Selma; a son, Kevin Davidson of Selma; brothers, Jack and wife Beverly Davidson of Edwards, Miss., and Charles and wife Joyce Tatum of Mobile; sisters, Nadine and her husband Kenneth Wilson of Greenville, Miss., Lola Greeson of Winnsboro, La., Brenda Raney of Rayville, La., and Judit Rhodes of Epps; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma lone Raney and father, John Allen Tatum.
Active pallbearers are Bill Seitz, Bob Seitz, Jack Frost, Bob Myers, John Osburn and Wayne Robinson. Honorary pallbearers are Ronnie Edwards, the Maverick Sunday School Class at Valley Grande Baptist Church, and the employees and retirees of United Parcel Service.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, May 6 at Valley Grande Baptist Church.
Mr. Davidson, was retired from the United Parcel Service in Selma.
Louise Henry
Louise Henry, 85, of Selma, died Wednesday, May 5, 2004.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Morts Funeral Home.
