Selma resident Joe Woods has been missing for a week and his family, along with the Selma Police Department, is asking for the public’s help in finding him.
According to Betty Woods, Joe’s sister, the 34-year-old disappeared from the 1400 block of Green Street sometime around March 3.
He was last seen wearing brown pants and a white T-shirt, and would possibly have a tan jacket with a fur-like collar.
Betty said her family is gravely concerned because it is not like Joe to disappear for long periods of time.
Betty said she and the rest of her family have been so racked with worry over the past few days that they can barely focus on anything else, including sleep.
Betty described her brother as a loner, someone who spent a great deal of time working on a book about Selma.
According to police reports, Joe told a witness he was going to the library before he disappeared.
Betty and her other siblings have hope that Joe is still alive, but they fear the worst has happened.
Betty said she and her other siblings have searched around town, but so far have not turned up any clues.
The family can only guess as to where Joe might be or what happened to him.
There only concern is that he come home safe.
Anyone with information about Joe Woods is asked to call Selma police at 874-6611.
