Coach Velton Robinson’s Southside Panthers showed a lot of heart as they battled back from 15 points down against highly-ranked Central Coosa.

Playing on Coosa’s home floor, the Panthers roared back and took the lead with four minutes left in the fourth quarter.

In the end, Southside came up short, 59-55.

The Panthers were led by Jeffrey Anderson with 15 points and 11 rebounds.

Deonte Williams added 12 points and freshman Fontana Watters had 12 points and eight assists.

All three players made the all-tournament team and the best news for Southside fans is that all three will be back next season.

Williams is a junior and Anderson is a sophomore for the Panthers.

The Panthers will go on the road next week to face the winner of Saturday’s Beauregard/St. James game.
