Against Tuscaloosa, the Meadowview Lady Trojans knew they’d have to play a deliberate game.

The Lady Knights played a slow-down game and tried to limit the number of Meadowview’s shots.

Still, the Lady Trojans were too strong and took a first round win in the area playoffs, 32-19 Thursday afternoon.

If top-ranked Kingwood beat Bessemer later in the day, the Lady Trojans were guaranteed a trip to Montgomery for the regionals.

Thursday’s game tested Meadowview’s discipline.

Haley McIntyre had 16 points and 10 rebounds. Elyse McIntyre had five points and three rebounds.

Joni Lawrence added five points. Ashton Smith had four points and Carol Ann McIntyre had a point. Sarah Biddle a point as well.

With the win, Meadowview advanced to 21-6 on the season and on Friday at 5:30 p.m., they’ll play the Kingwood and Bessemer win.
