Meadowview post John Robert Morton’s senior season has been remarkable.

He’s averaging over 31 points-per-game, he’s been over 40 points three times and he’s broken Trojan records left and right.

Monday night against Lowndes Academy, he surpassed even those achievements.

Morton scored 15 in the first, nine in the second, 15 in the third and 13 points in the fourth on his way to 53 points in a 70-60 win.

The 6-foot-5 senior post drilled five 3-pointers in the winning effort.

One thing that helped Morton was his teammates made their shots and took some pressure off.

Chris Sewell had five points, six assists and four rebounds for Meadowview. Dustin Lee had four points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and six steals.

Raines had four points, 11 rebounds and five assists.

Bryant Barnes had three points and seven assists. Noah Reid two points and eight rebounds.

Leading for Lowndes, Ty Langston had 26.

Raines was still amazed by Morton’s performance.
