Eagles clip Morgan

Morgan Academy came out on a mission Tuesday night against the top-ranked team in the AISA.

With Reid Tolar scoring 11 points in the first quarter, Morgan went toe-to-toe with the Eagles.

But Morgan couldn’t keep up in the second half as the balanced Eagles took the win, 65-45.

Brett Paulk led all scorers with 22 points for the Eagles.

Andrew Hollis added 20 points in the winning cause.

For Morgan, Reid Buster and Tolar led the Senators with 11 points each.

Eric Pilcher and Jeremy Smith added seven points each.

John Porter had four points and Allen Callaway had two points.

Allen Pitts and Ben Callaway scored a point each.

Tolar had seven rebounds for the Senators.

Morgan stayed close until midway through the third quarter.

Buster had the hot hand early in the second half and Morgan cut the lead to 39-37.

Fort Dale then went on a 17-2 run put the game away.

A pair of key free throws from Bain Henning tied things up and Cory Singley’s buzzer-beater won the game as the Morgan JV boys beat Ft. Dale, 38-36 Tuesday night in OT.
