Fresh from its first confirmed arrest, Crime Stoppers of Dallas County is on the trail of an unsolved murder this week.
Arthur Soles was shot and killed in Lowndes County on March 7, 2003, as he sat in his car.
According to Freine, Soles was shot multiple times. The motive remains under investigation.
Freine added that Crime Stoppers of Dallas County, which began late last year, encourages citizens to provide any information they may have about a particular crime in return for a cash reward.
Earlier this month, Freine announced the first confirmed arrest as the direct result of a tip to Crime Stoppers of Dallas County. Robin Dewayne Helms, who was wanted on several theft-related charges and for failure to appear, was arrested after a tip led law enforcement personnel to the house where he was hiding.
Anyone with information about a Crime of the Week is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-866-44-CRIME.
Callers will be given a code name. They do not have to identify themselves or testify. If the information provided leads to an arrest or the recovery of stolen property, callers will receive a cash reward of from $25 to $1,000.
Rewards are usually made within a matter of days. A conviction is not necessary to collect a reward, only an arrest or the recovery of stolen property.
