Hornets beat the buzzer

Rafel Miller capped a roaring Dallas County comeback with a buzzer-beating 3-pointer Friday night in Centerville.

Tied at 78 with eight seconds left, Miller took the ball the length of the court, dribbled through the defense and stuck a dagger into Bibb County’s heart.

an 81-78 win and the 4A, Area 7 regular season championship.

With the win, Dallas County improves their record to 11-10 overall and 5-1 in the area.

Patrick Jackson had 22 points and 10 rebounds in his first game since Dec. 12.

The sophomore Miller had 20 points and hit his second game-winning three of the year.

Michael Johnson had 15 points, 16 boards, five assists and five blocks. Vencient Moore had 12 points.

Clay Jones had 18 points for Bibb County.

Monday at Maplesville

Miller’s shot capped an impressive comeback that saw the Hornets fight back from 16 down in the third quarter and 10 down in the final period. Dallas County outscored Bibb County 58-39 in the second half.
