Francis Marion pounds Bibb County

Finally getting healthy, coach Woodie Jackson’s Francis Marion Rams had one of their better outings of the year Friday night as they pounded Bibb County, 74-62.

Jackson’s team has been without three starters for several games.

Two players are back, but one is still banged up.

The win advanced Francis Marion to 14-7 overall.

The Rams’ Julius Allgood was outstanding.

He had 5 jams on the night and finished with 23 points, 15 boards, 4 steals, 2 blocks and 2 assists.

Jeremy Arrington had 9 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals and 8 assists. Brently Wright had 6 points, 5 boards and 4 steals.

Lady Rams 61-Bibb Co. 50

It was a shootout for the Lady Rams as they hosted Bibb County Saturday.

The Rams’ Angelica Trimble went toe-to-toe with Bibb County’s Rotesha Anderson.

Both players finished with 26 points but Trimble got more help as the Lady Rams took the 61-50 win.

Qwenisha Arrington had 18 points for the Lady Rams and Karisten Lipscomb had 12 rebounds. Francis is 8-5 for the season.

Mobile 49-Meadowview 47

The Trojans fought back from a 15-point fourth-quarter deficit but came up short on the road Saturday.

They fell to Mobile, 49-47.

John Robert Morton led the Trojans with 26 points and 15 rebounds.

Chris Sewell added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists.

Noah Reid added 4 points and 10 rebounds.

Aaron Raines was good for 3 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds.

Wilcox Central 52 –

J.F. Shields 33

The Wilcox Central Lady Jaguars defeated J.F. Shields 52-33 on Friday night.

Though the Jags didn’t have anyone in double figures, 10 of the 13 players scored in the ball game for the 14-5 Wilcox squad.

Their next game will be today at Auburn in the Martin Luther King Jr. Classic.
