Mary Lois Cagle Sherer

Mary Lois Cagle Sherer, 90, of Sheffield, died Monday, January 12, 2004, in Sunbridge Care of Muscle Shoals.

Services are at noon on Jan. 14 in the Morrison Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mickey Davis and the Rev. Jack Lamon officiating. Burial will follow at New Prospect Cemetery in Jasper.

Mrs. Sherer was born in Nauvoo and lived many years in both Jasper and Sheffield. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Tuscumbia where she taught Sunday school for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Sherer, her parents John and Alice Cagle, daughter-in-law Frankie Sherer, and grandson John Michael Darby.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Carole Darby of Florence; sons, Tommy Sherer of Trussville, Jimmy Sherer of Selma, Hugh Sherer of Jasper, Carl Sherer of Muscle Shoals; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons, Tim Darby, Jack Darby, David Sherer, Michael Sherer, Mark Sherer, Wesley Sherer, Matthew Sherer and Bobby Patterson.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the caregivers from hospice and Sunbridge for the loving attention given to their mother during her illness. Special appreciation is extended to her good friend and caregiver Vivian Warren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Shoals or Calvary Baptist Church in Tuscumbia.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home.

Faye Booker Kelly

Faye Booker Kelly, 59, of Spanish Fort, formerly of Selma, died Saturday, January 10, 2004.

Services are at 10 a.m. on Jan. 14 at the Eastern Shore Baptist Church in Daphne. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma.

She was a member of the Eastern Shore Baptist Church and was formerly a longtime member of Church Street United Methodist Church in Selma.

Mrs. Kelly retired after 17 years as a first-grade teacher in the Selma City School System.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Booker of Selma.

Survivors include her husband of over 19 years, Jack Kelly of Spanish Fort; mother, Eva Jo Booker of Selma; brother, Terry (Jule) Booker of Selma; three daughters, Jessica Henry (Stephen) Connick of Fairhope; Marni Henry (Walter) Tutt of Demopolis; and Adrienne Henry (Hugh) Ovemyer of Demopolis; stepdaughter, Elizabeth Kelly (Eric) Miller Of Durham, N.C.; seven grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a favorite charity or &8220;Caring Ministries&8221; of Fairhope United Methodist Church, Church Street United Methodist Church of Selma, or Demopolis First United Methodist Church. Also, donations can be sent to the &8220;For His Children&8221; Adoption Fund at Children of the World International Adoption Agency in Fairhope.

Eddie Lee Jones

Eddie Lee Jones, 58, of Selma, died Thursday, January 8, 2004, at a Marion nursing facility.

Arrangements will be announced later by J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home.
