Kenneth Stewart Barton

Kenneth Stewart Barton, 75, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, in his home in Greensboro. He was formerly of Marion. Graveside services will be held Monday, Dec. 8, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Steve Smith officiating and Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing. The family will receive friends Monday from 10-11 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall of Heiberger United Methodist Church before the service. Survivors include his wife, Martha Davis Barton of Greensboro; three daughters, Beth B. McClendon and Ann B. Drury of Greensboro and Helen B. Andrews of Vestavia Hills; and one brother, Burnis C. Barton of Marion. Active pallbearers will be his nephews, James D. Barton, Dudley C. Barton, W. Carleton Barton, Frank E. Barton, Kenneth L. Barton, Thomas Alexander Barton, Leonard M. Barton Jr., James T. Oswald, Jeffery H. Oswald, Robert C. Brock Jr., John M. Brock and N.J. Davis IV. Nora Pearl Kellum, 76, died Saturday, Dec. 6, 2003, at her home in Selma. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m., in Pineview Memory Gardens, with the Rev. Daniel Martin officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends at Lawrence Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Monday. Her husband, Robert Kellum, and her son, John Kellum, preceded Mrs. Kellum in death. Survivors include a son, Billy Kellum of Selma; a daughter, Sherri Mott of Selma; a brother, Robert Paulk of Alabama; and five sisters, Mildred Head of Michigan, and Bertha Johnson, Vona McMeans, Mary Coffman and Virginia Webster of Alabama; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Sarah Frances Yancy

Sarah Frances Yancy, 93, of Selma, died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003, at a local hospital. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at 10 a.m., at Selma Funeral Home Chapel, with Dr. John Fain officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in the Pea River Church Cemetery near Clio, Ala. The family will receive friends between 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Selma Funeral Home. She is survived by two daughters, Sara Cecil (Floyd) Bowman of Selma and Frances Elaine (Jerry) Kuhlman of Bellview, Neb; four grandchildren, William Hunt Bowman of Selma, Cindy Lou (Darrien) Horton, Patty Ann (Kevin) Broderick and Kathie Sue (Bill) Britten, all of Bellview, Neb.; four great-grandchildren, Adam Michael Britten, Ryan Anthony Britten, Dusty Broderick and Danielle Broderick, all of Bellview, Neb.; one niece, Sheree (Lavon) Powell of Clio, Ala.

Active pallbearers will be Elton Ralston, Donnie Coffee Sr., Larry Chapman, Don Jones, Larry Lewis and John Traylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Myers, Dr. J.H. French, Jerry Kuhlman and Aubrey Doyle. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Visually Impaired People Organization, P.O. Box 1473, Selma, AL 36702, of which Mrs. Yancy was a strong supporter. Her husband, a sister, a brother and her parents preceded her in death.
