The Selma High Lady Saints had a lot to be thankful for

in the Greenville Thanksgiving Tournament held November 28 and 29 in Greenville.

The Lady Saints improved their overall record to 9-0 on the season with a trio of wins over Vigor of Mobile, T.R. Miller and Greenville High.

Lead by Santana Seay and Kimberly Wilson, the Lady Saints were dominant over the holiday weekend.

Seay was named the tournament’s MVP while Wilson earned All-Tournament team honors with her dominating inside play.

In the firs round, Selma held off a tough Vigor team, 52-48.

Setting the patter for the weekend, it was Wilson and Seay leading the charge.

Wilson had an outstanding game with 16 points and 18 rebounds as she dominated in the post.

Seay also had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.

Erica Lumpkin pitched in with 12 points and 5 rebounds in the win.

In the second round, the Saints found themselves in for another battle with T.R. Miller.

Again the Lady Saints’ defense held their opponent to 48 points, but the offense added two more as Selma took the 54-48 win.

This time, it was Seay in charge.

She dropped 17 points and 5 rebounds on Miller in the winning effort.

Ashley Green added 12 points.

With her teammates handling the scoring load, Wilson focused on the rebounds.

She finished with 14 boards and 8 points.

Lumpkin continued to play well with 7 points and 8 rebounds in the win.

In the championship game against the home team, the offense picked up the pace, but they had to.

Selma outscored Greenville 73-61 to take the tournament title.

It was their biggest win of the weekend.

Seay exploded for 30 points and 7 rebounds to seal tourney MVP honors.

Wilson continued her amazing work on the glass.

She had her second double-double of the tournament and finished with 13 points and 14 rebounds.

Shemeka Simpson got in on the act with 11 points.

Lumpkin added 9 points and 8 rebounds.

Ashley Green had 8 points in the winning effort for the Lady Saints.
