Wade Johnson

Wade johnson, 76, of Selma, died Thursday, November, 2003, at a local hospital.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 23, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Frank Calloway officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Ida Nell Johnson; daughter, Patricia J. Jordan

of Apalaichacola, Fla.; granddaughters, Alicia Jordan Middlebrooks and Christie Johnson of Mississippi; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Middlebrooks and Abby Middlebrooks; a brother, Jim Johnson and a sister, Mary Tommie Mayfield.

Lillian Wilcox Johnson

Lillian Wilcox Johnson, 86, of Selma, died Thursday, November 20, 2003, at her home.

Graveside services are at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 25, at Cambridge Christian Cemetery with the Rev. Nat Rudulph officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her children, Carolyn J. Barber of Pana, Ill., Sharon E. Price of Miountain View, Ark., Ross L. Johnson of Florida, Johnnie E. Harrison, Susan K. Johnson and Ivan F. Johnson all of Selma and Tina L. Walddoups of Lake Helen, Fla.; 15 grandsons, nine granddaughters; 21 great-grandsons; and 15 great-granddaughters.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross F. Johnson, one great-grandson and two great-granddaughters.

Active pallbearers are her one son and five grandsons.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were dairy farmers in Marion Junction and Orrville from 1955-1964.

Clarence Boykin

Clarence Boykin, of Birmingham, formerly of Selma, died Wednesday, November 19, 2003, at his home

Date of graveside services at Fairlawn Cemetery will be announced at a later date.

Survivors include his mother, Brunetta Boykin Williams; a brother, Frank Cosey of Akron, Ohio; sister, Mary Phillip of Atlanta, Ga.; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Alonda Jean Caver

Baby Alonda Jean Caver, of Selma, born died Wednesday, November 19, 2003.

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday, November 24, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her parents, Alzona Caver and Bobbie Jean Caver; grandmother, Mary E. Hatcher of Marion; grandfathers, Otis Cleveland of Selma and Leviston Caver; four brothers, Anthony K. Bingle of Detroit, Jarvis Cleveland, Joseph Agee III and Jorelle Agee all of Selma; two sisters, Ja’Kora Caver of Selma, Caemonae Caver of Detroit; four aunts, Linda (James) Gardner, Judie Caver, Frances (David) Hardy and JoAnn (John) Sims all of Selma; six uncles, Jerome Cleveland of Selma, Recola Cleveland of Tuscaloosa, Napolean Cleveland, Michael Hatcher and Willie Hatcher all of Selma.

She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Virgin Caver and an uncle Jerome Caver. Alonda was born on October 10, 2003.

Julian Davis Wedgworth

Julian Davis Wedgworth, 73, of Natchez, died Thursday, November 20, 2003.

Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at Lovely Lane United Methodist Church.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m., Sunday, November 23, at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Wedgworth, with the Reverend Scott Livingston, cousin of the deceased officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Jeanie Wedgworth of Natchez; son, Morgan Davis Wedgworth of Montgomery; daughter, Peggy Jean Wedgworth Forsyth of Birmingham; step-son, David William Monk of Fort Worth, Texas; and five grandchildren.

Mr. Wedgworth graduated from the University of Alabama in 1953, and served in the United States Army as a first lieutenant during the Korean War.

He joined Crawford & Company Insurance Adjusters in 1957 where he worked as an insurance adjuster until his retirement in 1996.

Ida Elizabeth Cook

Ida Elizabeth Cook, 105, of Tuscaloosa, died Wednesday, November 12, 2003, at her home.

Services were held at 2 pm Saturday, November 15, at Memory Chapel with Ben Jameson officiating. Burial followed in Memory Hill Gardens Cemetery with Memory Chapel Funeral directing.

Survivors include daughters, Ouida E. Deerman of Tuscaloosa and Mavis L. Russell (Leonard) of Selma; sons, Earl C. Cook (Juanita) of Vance, Jerman T. Cook Jr. of Orlando, Fla., Joseph A Cook (Loretta) of Pensacola, Fla.; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerman T. Cook, a son, Robert E. Cook, and daughter, Edith Wade Lord.

Active pallbearers were grandsons.

Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Renuka Reddy and staff, Alacare Hospice, Bruce Dunkin, Bobby and Sue Miller, Charlotte Robertson and family and Kristy Miller and family.

Amelia Tinker

Amelia Tinker, 93, of Gallion, died recently at her residence.

Funeral services are noon, Monday, Nov. 24, at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Gallion with the Rev. Bruce Seals officiating.

Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The remains will repose at the church on Monday beginning at 11 a.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis.

Garien S. Williams

Garien S. Williams, 23, of Linden, died Nov. 15, 2003, in Detroit, Mich.

Funeral Services are 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Sand Hill AME Zion Church in Myrtlewood with the Rev. Oliver Whitted officiating.

Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Larkin and Scott Funeral Directors of Demopolis.
