A 21-year-old Selma resident has been arrested and charged with the death of Eric Huntington, who was shot and killed outside the Tornado Club on Nov. 7.

The circumstances leading up the shooting remain under investigation.

Evidence is currently being processed at the local police department and in Montgomery at the state Department of Forensic Sciences.

Huntington, a 20-year-old Selma resident, died of complications from a gunshot wound after being rushed to the Vaughan Regional Medical Center emergency room by private vehicle.

Tornado Club owner Clyde Richardson has previously stated that the shooting took place in a city parking lot at the corner of Alabama Avenue and Washington Street.

Huntington’s death marked the tenth murder to be committed in Selma this year.

Of the 10 murders this year, the only one that has not been solved involves the death of 35-year-old Bruce Gray.

Gray was killed outside his mobile home on Commodore Drive on Oct. 9.

Fails is currently being held without bond at the Dallas County Jail. Green said the suspect’s bond hearing is pending.
