Despite the cool nip in the air, hundreds of parents and children gathered at John T. Morgan Academy’s baseball field Tuesday for the school’s Fall Carnival.

The area was crowded with 15 to 20 various booths, with plenty of prizes given away to all those who took part in the festivities.

While the parents and older children played games of bingo, the younger ones enjoyed activities such as a cake and pie walks, milk bottle tosses and the ever-popular dunking booth.

There were also two large inflatable slides and play areas for the younger children, along with a massive bouncing moonwalk shaped like a castle.

Parents, teachers and teen-agers who attend school at Morgan Academy all volunteered to work at the carnival booths.

Most of the volunteers had easy jobs of just handing out the prizes, but a few brave souls elected to be the victims of the pie-throwing booth.

Everyone who came to the Fall Carnival seemed to be having a good time, some of them even showing up in their Halloween costumes.

Though the weather kept carnival-goers bundled up for warmth, most people said they were glad to be spending time with their families and giving to a good cause.

The only person who didn’t seem to be enjoying himself, however, was the young boy who had to be in the dunking booth.
