Pretending to be grown-up with their little baby dolls and tea parties is something a lot of young girls love to do.

Local resident Cindy Duck has decided to take this favorite pastime and turn it into an entire afternoon of fun for a group of 50 girls at Payne Elementary School.

Duck, along with the help of five college students, is planning an event she calls Project PILLOW Talk (Positively Influencing Little Ladies On Womanhood). Designed for girls in kindergarten through third grade, PILLOW Talk involves an old-fashioned tea party, games, and plenty of crafts.

Scheduled for Oct. 25 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., the event is in conjunction with Make A Difference Day, sponsored by USA Weekend magazine.

What she found, Duck said, were too many role models for young girls that were not portraying a positive image.
