This week’s game at Beauregard (5-2) may be the biggest of the season so far for Chris Raymond’s Southside (5-2) squad.

The winner of the game will likely earn a second-place berth in the playoffs and a home playoff game.

The coach added that this game isn’t a make-or-break contest for the Panthers.

If they have to go on the road in the playoffs, the Panthers are well prepared.

That’s still four weeks away and the Panthers have to take care of business before they can worry about the playoffs.

They’ll play host to a physical football team that will try to pound the ball.

Luckily, intensity is one of the Panthers’ strengths.

The defense is led by the likes of linebacker Gerarde Shanks, defensive backs Michael Carter, Darryl Watts and Quinton Coston and others.

The Panthers win with an unrelenting attack that punishes opponents’ running game.

Their play has begun to earn attention from colleges.

Raymond stresses despite the individual accolades, the Panthers’ achievements have come from teamwork.
