Viola Gibson

Viola Gibson, 95, of Selma, died Friday, September, 19, 2003, at a local hospital.

Services were at 1 p.m. Sunday, September 21, at the Chapel of Leak-Memory Chapel. Burial followed in Greenwood Cemetery with Leak-Memory Chapel directing.

Survivors include two sons, Willie O. Burton and Wayne Carter; two daughters, Joanne Trevino and Johnnie Rosser; sister, Aurie McGrady; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sons, Pat Burton and Charles Robert Burden and a daughter, Mary Lou Cantou.

Edwin Keaton Thornhill Sr.

Edwin Keaton Thornhill Sr., 68, of Dayton, died Thursday, September 18, 2003, at his son’s home in Demopolis.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 21, at the Chapel of O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Stuart Pope officiating.

Burial will followed in Dayton Cemetery with O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include three sons, Edwin Keaton (Anita) Thornhill Jr. of Demopolis, Glen Thornhill of Linden and Bryant (Becky) Thornhill of Miller; three daughters, Ginny Long of Demopolis, Lynda Edwards of Linden and Diana (Brooks) Thomas of Franklin, Tenn.; and one brother, J.C. Lee Thornhill Jr. of Linden; 10 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joy Durden Thornhill, his father, J.C. Lee Thornhill Sr., mother, Maybelle Keaton Thornhill and a brother, Vincent Thornhill.

Junior Lee Steele

Junior Lee Steele, 52, of Selma, died Monday, September 22, 2003, at his home.

Funeral arrangement will be announced later by Selma Funeral Home.
