Despite an 0-2 start and a 50-0 loss to the second-ranked Prattville Lions Friday night, the Selma Saints went back to work this week with their heads held high.

Against the Lions, it was obvious just how far Lowe and his Saints have to go.

When Lowe arrived this summer, he quickly put the team to work in a tough program.

It helped, the Saints are in better shape and a much improved team because of that work.

But an experienced team like Prattville has players who have been working like that for four years.

There have been many positive signs.

The Saints went toe-to-toe in week one against a tough Southside team and led until the final minutes.

Against Prattville, the Saints moved the ball but they couldn’t stick it in the end zone.

Still, the Saints aren’t interested in moral victories.

Still the signs are encouraging.

The Saints are sticking together through the tough times and that will make them better in the long run.
