The STJ’s Player of the Week award is about more than just a pretty stat line.

Wins, opponent’s toughness and overcoming adversity all figure in as well.

This week though, the AISA award goes to someone with an outstanding stat line.

Marion Military freshman running back Isaiah Waites raced for over 320 yards and five touchdowns in the team’s first win of the year.

On the AHSAA side, Darryl Watts once again was big in a winning effort.

Watts carried 12 times for 110 yards and three touchdowns as the Panthers picked up their fifth win of the season.
