Willie Mae Woods

Willie Mae Woods, 81, of Selma, formerly of Centreville, died Saturday, June 27, 2003.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 3, at Little Canaan P.B. Church with Elder James Beal officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include five grandchildren, Marshall (Rosia) Woods, Shirley (Robert Earl) Woods, James Woods, Curtis Munford and LaTonya (Byron) Stiff; 12 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; five brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Woods, per parents, William and Bessie Noyd, one sister, Helen Louise Woods and three brothers, Walter Noyd, Harry Noyd and Raymond Noyd.

Active pallbearers are friends of the family.

Family visitation will be from8-9 p.m. on Wednesday, at Lewis Brothers Funeral Home.

Mrs. Woods confessed her love for Christ at an early age, uniting with Bethlehem Baptist Church, Citronelle. After moving to Selma, she joined Little Canaan P.B. Church, where she was a member of the Senior Choir and served faithfully until her death.

Etta Jane Harvell

Etta Jane Harvell, 98, of Montevallo, died Sunday, June 29, 2003 at a healthcare facility.

Services are at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 2, at the Chapel of O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Leon Parnell and the Rev. Marvin Smith Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Kelly Cemetery in Pine Hill, with O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include daughters, Henrietta (Burch) Morgan of Selma, and Ann Vanderslice of Montevallo; son, Henry (Carla) Harvell Jr. of Wetumpka; sister-in-law, Ruth Harvell of Yellow Bluff; 13 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death her husband, Henry Harvell Sr., a daughter, Ella Mae Smith; three granddaughters, Glenda Dailey, Evon Bedwell and Tammy Harvell, and two great-grandchildren, Wendy Boyette and Jacob Smith.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, at O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home.

Carlos C. Smith

Carlos C. Smith, 80, of Lawley, died Monday, June 30, 2003, at his home.

Services are at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald Harris and the Rev. Roger Kinard officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olvie P. B. Church Cemetery with Rockco’s Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife Alma Smith of Lawley; four sons, Gervis (Sara) Smith of Marion, Jerry (Kathy) Smith of Valley Grande, Mason (Carol) Harris of Selma and Jesse (Linda) Harris of Plantersville; one daughter, Jo Ann (Clifton) Parker of Brent; one brother, Harvey Smith of Lawley; 18 grandchildren; and 27 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Hillard Smith.

Active pallbearers are Kirk Smith, Ronnie Smith, Timmy Harris, Bryant Smith, Justin Smith and Skip Rozelle.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, at Rockco’s Funeral Home.
