Moore Stewart team leads hit parade

The Moore Stewart Ford and Honda team scored at least one run in each of six innings as they downed CWA 3910, 17-9 in 7- and 8-year-old play at the Sportsplex Saturday.

Kyle Stewart led the Moore Stewart hit parade with three singles and a triple.

He scored four times and knocked home two more. Pfiffer Triplett lived up to his named and tripled twice.

Jamand Martin added three hits, two singles and a triple.

Riley Hopkins led the CWA 3910 attack with a 4-for-4 day. He singled three times, doubled and scored three times.

Moore Stewart got on the board first as Stewart led off with a single.

He moved over on Logan Banks groundout and scored on Austin Anderson’s double. CWA first baseman Wes Tipton ended the half-inning with a sliding catch.

CWA quickly took the lead as Ford Manderson led off with a single and later scored on an error. Hopkins ripped a one-out single and scored on a Tipton triple. Earlando Thomas singled him home to put CWA up 3-1.

Moore Stewart battled back into the lead with a two-out rally.

Jacobe Relph singled and Tyrle Thomas brought him home with a triple. Trent Salter’s single brought him home and gave Moore Stewart a 4-3 lead.

The Moore Stewart defense held CWA scoreless in the bottom of the second.

Moore Stewart got their bats going in the third.

Stewart led off with a singled and Banks followed with a base knock. Triplett ripped a three-bagger.

After a pop out, Jamand Martin singled home a run. Tikeem Cooper followed with a single. Troy Tolbert came through with a bases-clearing double. After the dust cleared, Moore Stewart led 8-3.

CWA got two runs back in the bottom of the inning. Hopkins singled and Tipton doubled.

Grey Cothran’s pop up allowed both runners to tag and score as Moore Stewart threw it around the field.

CWA loaded the bases with two outs but couldn’t get another run home.

Replh led off with a single in the top of the fourth and later scored on a Trent Salter hit. Hopkins singled and scored in the bottom of the inning as Cothran knocked him home.

Already up 9-6, Moore Stewart busted loose for another five runs. Stewart led off with a single and Banks followed with the same. Triplett tripled home the runners. Anderson moved the runner home on a groundout. Martin tripled and Cooper doubled him home.

Cooper scored on a Troy Tolbert singled.

After CWA failed to score in the bottom of the fifth, Moore Stewart plated three more runs in the top of the sixth.

Salter and Tim Fields each singled and Stewart brought them home with a triple. Banks knocked Stewart home.

Even though they trailed by more runs than they could score in an inning, CWA didn’t give up.

Manderson ripped a double and Andrew Swindle knocked him home with a single.

Hopkins knocked him home with a double but was tagged out as he tried to stretch it into a triple. Tipton smashed a ball to left for a solo homer and the final run of the game.
