Around 12:20 a.m., Dallas County resident James Olyer, 26, was brought to Vaughan Regional Medical Center after being hit by gunshot. No arrests have been made in the shooting.

The incident began with Olyer pulling onto Water Avenue in front of the suspect’s car &045;&045; a gold Honda Accord with chrome rims. Olyer had just left a local nightclub.

The suspect pulled around and in front of Olyer’s vehicle and stopped at the corner of Water Avenue and Broad Street, but whether it was because of a red light or another reason is unknown.

Both Olyer and the suspect &045;&045; described as a black male in his twenties &045;&045; stepped out of their vehicles. Oyler then was shot in his left chest area. Other details are still being investigated by police.

Oyler’s brother, who was with him at the time, got Oyler back into his car and brought him to the medical center. Evans said from there Oyler was transported to The University of Alabama Birmingham medical facility.

When police arrived at the scene an evidence search was made.

Police have a number of leads, but have asked the public to be on the lookout for the suspect’s vehicle &045;&045; a gold Honda Accord with chrome rims. The vehicle should have Dallas County tags.

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s about 6 feet tall.
