Miriam D. Lilienthal

Miriam D. Lilienthal, 81, of Selma, died Friday, April 4, 2003.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at Old Live Oak Cemetery with

Seymour Cohn and Dr. David Thomas officiating and Lawerence Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Lilienthal graduated with honors from the University of Alabama. She was a member of Temple Mishkan Israel and in its sisterhood. She was also a volunteer at the Red Cross, a pink lady at Vaughan Regional Medical Center, a social worker at the Cahaba Transitional Home, and a volunteer at the Selma Public Library. She worked at Lilienthal’s Men’s Store and Leon’s in Selma before retirement. She is preceded in death by her son Leslie Lilienthal.

Survivors include

daughters, Julie Lilienthal (Harold) Ceitlin of Birmingham, and Sally Lilienthal (Cecil) Dunkley of Selma; four grandsons, Leslie Lilienthal, Jr., Morris Lilienthal, Jean Lilienthal, and Jay Ceitlin; two granddaughters, Jill Ceitlin and Amy Dunkley.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Temple Mishkan Israel Foundation.

Delbert Wilbur Wyatt

Delbert Wilber Wyatt, 76, of Alexander City, died Friday, April 4, 2003, at Russell Medical Center.

He was born on August 7, 1926, in Tallapossa County to Marvin Franklin and Lillie Mae Akins Wyatt. He worked for many years at Russell Pipe and Foundry. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Funeral Services will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at the Chapel of Radney’s Funeral Home with the Rev. Bobby Anderson officiating.

Burial will follow in the Russell Farms Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie Ruth Wyatt; daughters, Shelby Jean (Donnie) Lumpkin of Kellyton, Dianne Moon of Alexander City,

Sylvia Ruth (James) Patterson of Wetumpka; son, Johnny Delbert (Susan) Wyatt of Alexander City; brother, Zolan Wyatt of Montgomery; sisters, Willaden Davis of Montgomery, Juanita Baker of Alexander City; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Willie Cook

Willie Cook, 49, of Boligee, died recently in Livingston.

Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 6, at the Freehope Baptist Church in Boligee with the Rev. Willis Gulley officiating.

Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Larkin & Scott Funeral directors entrusted with the arrangements.

Emily Berrey Minter

Emily Berrey Minter, 91, died recently.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 7, at New Live Oak cemetery with the Rev. George Sedberry officiating and Lawerence Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

She was born December 3, 1911, in Orrville and was the oldest daughter of Emma Wilson Berrey and William Bethal Berrey. She graduated from Selma High School and Huntingdon College in 1931. She was married for 68 years to

James A. Minter, Jr., and lived in Tyler. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Ossian Club, and the Selma Public Library Board. She was preceded in death by her husband and sons William Bethel Minter and James Anthony Minter III.

Survivors include her sister, Drue Hobbs; daughter Margaret Hyatt; daughter-in-law, Anne Minter; four grandchildren, Townsend Hyatt, Torrey Hyatt, Mary Minter, and Jay Minter; three great-grandchildren, Gilley Minter, Pearce Hyatt, and Phillip Hyatt.
