Willie Green Hollis

Willie Green Hollis, 90, of Selma, died Monday, March 17, 2003 at a local hospital.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include three grandsons, Johnny J. Hollis Jr. (Gloria) of Montgomery, James E. Hollis of Birmingham, Ralph Hollis (Talenthia) of Warner Robins, Ga.; five granddaughters, Naomi Smiley (Howard), Mary Dixon (James) all of Selma, Jacqueline Croker (Ray) of Titusville, Fla., Marilyn Maddox (Barlon) and Sharolene Houston (Alvin) of Birmingham; seven granddaughter; four grandsons; one great-granddaughter; two special nieces, Renona Davison and Ceola Rollind both of Selma; one special nephew, Jesse James Ford; and a host of other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by parents, Sol and Lucy Callens Green.

Mrs. Hollis was born on Jan. 13, 1913 in Selma. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Alfred Curry

Alfred Curry, 44, of Uniontown, died Saturday, March 15, 2003.

Services are at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Mt. Calvary M. B. Church in Uniontown with the Rev. A.D. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Pickett Cemetery in Uniontown with Julia L. White Funeral Home directing.

Mary L. Cater

Mary L. Cater, 87, of Selma, died Wednesday, March 19, 2003 at a local hospital.

Services are at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at Tabernacle Baptist Church, with the Rev. Rodney Morton pastor and the Rev. Bruce Dozier officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas N. Cater; one son, Thomas N. Cater II; one daughter, Ona L. Wilson; two sisters, Daisy Horne and Dorothy Salley; two grandchildren; one son-in-law; and one daughter-in-law.

Active pallbearers are officers of the church.

Eunice Sheppard

Eunice Sheppard, 87, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Dallas County, died Monday, March 10, 2003 in Cleveland, Ohio.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, March 22, at Bethel Grove Baptist Church in Plantersville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Lucille Webb

Lucille Webb, 70, of Forkland, died Monday, March 17, 2003 at her home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Lloyd Chapel Baptist Church in Forkland, with the Rev. Clayborn May officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

Micheal James Pope

Infant Micheal James Pope, 6 weeks old, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at his home.

Graveside services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Elmwood Cemetery with Minister James Pope officiating and Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his parents, James and Latasha Pope; one brother, Joshua D. Irby-Pope; three sisters, Laronica, Lanecia and Victoria Pope; 33 uncles and aunts. Other relatives are maternal grandparents, James and Lucy Smith of Selma; paternal grandparents, Johnny and Katie Parker of Sardis; three special godmothers, Addie K. Butler and Elizabeth Murry and Laronia Sharpe and a host of great aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are friends and family.

Otis Tarver

Otis Tarver, of Selma, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at a local hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at the Chapel of Lewis Brothers Funeral Home with the Rev. C. Wright officiating and Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two brothers, Pettis (Rosa), R.C. (Estella) Tarver; two sisters, Della Mae and Mattie Mae Tarver; three sisters-in-law, Gussie S. Tarver; one daughter-in-law, Irene Tarver; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relative and friends.

Mr. Tarver was preceded in death by his wife, Mamie Sue Tarver, his parents, three sisters, four brothers and one son, Ernest T. Tarver.
