William H. Stockman

William H. “Bill” Stockman, 67, of Selma, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at his home.

Services are at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 20, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Neal Caver and the Rev. Winfred Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Garden Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Maxine Barnes Stockman of Selma; sons, William H. Stockman Jr. of Orlando, Fla., Joe Allen Stockman and wife Kerri and Roger Stockman and wife Shiela all of Selma; daughter, Susan Colburn and husband Guy of Greensboro; brothers, Lloyd Stockman and wife Carolyn of Selma, Comer Stockman and wife Jean of Prattville, Sam Stockman and wife Norman Jean of Mobile, Harold Stockman and wife Ann and Jimmy Stockman and wife Diane all of Prattville; sister, Mary Jo Vinson of Louisiana; grandchildren, Elizabeth Colburn , Martin Colburn, Lauren Stockman, Alan Stockman, Trent Stockman, Emily Stockman and Amanda Stockman.; sisters-in-law, Christine Hale and Pauline Lane both of Selma, Mary Jo Chance of Millbrook, Lucille Crocker of Marion and Jean Edwards of Chattanooga, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Tommy Barnes of Selma; and a large number of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers are Ladd Brown, Ronald Barnes, Donald Barnes, Jack Morgan, Bill Stephens and Eugene Barnes.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Donald Overstreet, Dick Boozer, Ronald Twilley, John Haskell, Charles Broadhead and James Vines.

Mildred Louise Scruggs

Mildred Louise Scruggs, 71, of Camden, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Friday, March 21, at Deer Cemetery with the Rev. Tommy Primm officiating and Dunklin-Herndon Funeral Home of Camden directing.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Joan S. Ballinger (Dave) of Camden; sons and daughters-in-law, David Stacey Scruggs of Camden, Johnny Wayne Scruggs (Sophia) of Thomasville and Kenneth Scruggs (Debbie) of Camden; grandchildren, Kenny Scruggs of Camden, Selena Scruggs of Foley; sisters, Barbara Ann Pardon of Monroeville and Betty Jo Crouch of Camden; brothers, Robert Stacey of Franklin and Clyde Stacey of Fulton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Lennie Laura Champion Morgan

Lennie Laura Champion Morgan, 91, of Jackson, died Tuesday, March 18, 2003 at a Jackson healthcare facility.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, at Kelly Cemetery in Pine Hill, with the Rev. James Parnell officiating and O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include sons, James Elex Morgan and Ernest Lee Morgan both of Selma and Noah F. Morgan of Grove Hill; daughters, Elizabeth Bradford of Fulton and Lennie Frost of Pine Hill; 13 grandchildren; 21

great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Felix Barron Sr.

Felix Barron Sr., 58, of Selma, died Thursday, March 13, 2003 at a local hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 22, at Morning Star Baptist Church with Evang. Catherine Barron officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery with J.H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home directing.

Mr. Barron, was born April 27, 1944 to Nettie Barron in Selma, the first born of 10 children. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a member of Central Baptist Church of Massillion until his death.

He was united in marriage to Georgia Mary James on Jan. 23, 1964, and to this union four children was born.

He was a faithful employee of American Apparel for 28 years until his health failed. Survivors include his loving and devoted wife and children. His loving wife of 39 years, Georgia M.
