Wilma Major Walter

Wilma Major Walter, 78, of Orrville, died Friday, March 5, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, March 13, at First Baptist Church in Orrville, with the Rev. Curtis Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include daughter, Charlie Mae Jackson of Birmingham; James Atkins of Orrville; and a host of godchildren, cousins and friends.

Active pallbearers are godsons.

Freddie Gardner

Freddie Gardner, of Dallas County, died Tuesday, March 9, 2004.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Miller Funeral Home.

Peter Stiles

Peter Stiles, died Monday, March 1, 2004, at a hospital in Detroit, Mich.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 13, at Beulah P. B. Church, 3304 Co. Rd. 37 South, Hope Hull, with Pastor T.M. Gardner III officiating.

Survivors include a special friend of 27 years, Emma Bailey; children, Kenneth (Jennette) Goodwin Stiles, Cynthia Stiles of Montgomery and Paxton Grice of Germany; one step-daughter, Shree (Sherron) Franklin of Detroit, Mich.; a sister, Georgia (Willie) Dixon of Birmingham; brothers, Johnny (Ethel) Stiles of Burkesville, Willie (Essie) Stiles Jr. of Hope Hull and William Murry (Eloise) Stiles Sr. of Selma; five grandchildren, Xavier, Artavia, Angela, Imani and Sherron, Jr.; special cousin, Emma Bonner and family of Detroit, Mich., a devoted niece, Sherry Stiles Cleveland; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Mr. Stiles was born in Burkesville the son of the late Rev. Willie and Elnora Stiles. He confessed Christ and joined Beulah P.B. Church in Hope Hull. Later be became a member of St. John Baptist Church under Pastor Charlie L. Bennett of Detroit, Mich.

He was a respected employee of General Motors Corp. on Detroit, for more than 15 years.
