Wilford E. &uot;Mac&uot; McBride, 81, of Selma, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at a local hospital.

Graveside services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 1, at Pineview Cemetery with Dr. Cecil Williamson officiating and Selma Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Edna McBryde of Selma; one son, Edward Brooks McBryde of Provincetown, Mass.; two daughters, Joyce McBryde (Harold) Plummer of Selma and Edna Katherine (Dennis) Wiggins of Rex, Ga.; one brother, Gordon Byron McBryde of Bessemer; one sister, Sara Jordan of Headland; and one grandchild, David Wiggins of Rex, Ga.

Active pallbearers are Harold Mott, Timothy Keith Sherrer, Kenneth Longcrier, Jimmy Wampler, William A. Sherrer Jr. and Ralph Friday.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Jack Burns, Dr. Julian Howell, Dr. Raymond Brignac and the deacons and elders of Crescent Hill Presbyterian Church.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, at Selma Funeral Home.

John Powell Webb, Jr.

John Powell Webb, Jr., a native of Selma and long time resident of

Camden and Point Clear, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003.

Graveside services are at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Feb. 28,at Memory Gardens of Fairhope with Pine Crest Funeral Home, 1939 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, directing.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Lila Northington Webb; two daughters, Lila Webb Dexter (Kendall) of Mobile and Eugenia Webb Wetherbee (John) of Prattville; one son, John Powell Webb, III (Evelyn) of Camden; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and other relatives.

Mr. Webb was veteran of World War II during which he served in New Guinea. He owned and operated Ford tractor and automotive dealerships in Camden for many years.

He also played an active role in organizing the Republican party in Camden.

Willie James Myles

Willie James Myles, 50, of Montgomery, died Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2003.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 1, at Bougahoma Baptist Church with the Rev. Earnest Green officiating. Burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include this three children, one daughter, Cornelia Myles of Mosses; two sons, Willie James Myles Jr. of Ocala, Fla., and Jonathan Lydell Myles of Montgomery; 10 sisters, Juanita (Charlie) Thomas, Bernith (Jessie) Coleman, Martha Myles all of Montgomery, Pearlie Mae (Henry) Gordon of Port Chester, N.Y., Ethel Mae (Willie) Vinson of Ocala, Fla., Callie (Ronnie) Davis of Bronx, N.Y., Mary Myles, Lula Jean Myles, Bernice (Roosevelt) Gordon and Ruthie Mae (Carl) Hill of Lowndes County; two brothers, Rayfield (Barbara) Myles of Montgomery and Jimmie Myles of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Tamyiah Taylor.

Annie L. Smith

Annie L. Smith, 76, of Hayneville, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003.

Survivors include four sisters, Bertha Belle Smith and Bessie Smith of Hayneville, Mary Lou Philip of Birmingham and Autherine (James) Johnson of Montgomery; one brother, Eddie (Elizabeth) Smith of Birmingham; three aunts, Juliene Lorine and Annie Mae; two devoted friends, Ann Nelson and Tureetha Carter; and a number of devoted nieces, nephews, other relatives, church family and friends.

Jessie James Lee

Dea. Jessie James Lee, 68, of Selma, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2003, at a local hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, Mar. 1, at Greater Pine Grove Baptist Church, Autaugaville, with the Rev. Samuel Cleveland officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two sons, Jessie Jr. (Vanessa) Lee and Frank Lee all of Cleveland, Ohio; four daughters, Mary (Wesbert) Nettles, Branda (Roy) Lee, Shirley Suttle all of Selma, and Wilma Smith of Cleveland, Ohio; seven brothers, Edward (Laura) Davis, David (Beverly) Lee, Robert (Emma) Lee, Otis Lee, Willie Lee, Howard (Darcel) Lee and James (Pam) Lee; five sisters, Tammie Bradford, Mary (Moses Sr.) Williams, Ollie Morgan, Jacqueline Lee and Lora (Leroy Sr.) Morgan; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews; one aunt, Margaret Palmar; and one uncle, Aaron Campbell.

Ceola Moody Lilly

Ceola Mandy Lilly, 89, of Alberta, formerly of Dayton, Ohio, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, Mar. 1, at Sidney’s Chapel AME Zion Church in Consul, with the Rev. Jimmie Coleman officiating.

Survivors include a host of cousins, including Mary Wynn and Martha Yarbrough of Dayton, Ohio, Matilda G. Hayes and Menda G. Pettway of Alberta, Cleveland Lilly of Andalusia, Bertha Freson of Memphis, Tenn., Mary Burrell, Hattie Lawson, and Bettie Cox of Catherine, Alex Gamble of Fairfield; and a devoted friend, Mildred Owens; and other relatives and friends.

Family visitation will be from 11-12 on Saturday, at the church.

Ms. Lilly was a retired practical nurse from the Children Psychiatric Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, who cherished her work with children. She was a member of numerous civic organizations. She gave the world a wonderful giving spirit,

Christian life and selfless services.

James D. Walker

James D. Walker, 64, of Selma, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2003, at his home.

Services are at 10 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 1, at St. Paul Methodist Church with the Rev. Joseph Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Cemetery with Walker Mortuary directing.

Survivors include his wife, Leola Fields Walker; one son, Bernard (Dorothy) Smith; three brothers, Curley Walker, Johnnie P. Walker of Alexander City and Aubrey L. Walker.; one grandchild; three brothers-in-law; 10 sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews; one aunt, Mattie L. Brown of Greenville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James P. and Pauline Walker.

Active pallbearers are nephews and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are deacons of St. Paul Methodist Church.

The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday, one hour prior to the service.

Ann Elizabeth Adams Huggins, 86, of Camden, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003.

Survivors include her husband, B. J. Huggins of Camden; children, Mary Ann Huggins Kincaid (Don) of Decatur, Brenda Huggins Cobb (Henry) of Athens, Ga., and Hal Huggins (Vickie) of Camden; grandchildren, Kathi Anthony, Jay Kincaid, Anna Dempsey, Millie Carr, Hal Cobb, Kristi Huggins and Matt Huggins; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Ina Bradberry of Augusta, Ga.; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Ida Williams Jackson, 47, of Dallas County, died Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003, at a local hospital.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Jackson; her father, Eddie Hardy; one son, Michael Jackson; two daughters, Irene Jackson and Yolanda Jackson; seven brothers, Willie Williams, James Hardy, Lawrence Williams, Earle Williams, Marion Williams, Anthony Shannon and Demico Harrison; sisters, Lizzie Williams, Inell Savage, Marian Ross, Betty Powell, Barbara Williams, Brenda Williams and Linda Peoples; one grandchild; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; 14 nephews; 13 nieces; and a host of cousins and friends.

Ernest Holt Hamlett Jr., 84, of Molett’s Bend, died Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2003, at his home.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 28, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church with the Rev. Polk Van Zandt officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Tippett Molett Hamlett; a son, Ernest Holt Hamlett III; daughters, Rosa Hamlett Davis, Florence Hamlett Young, Ellen Hamlett Harris and Vivian Hamlett McEntire; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; step-sons, Douglas Harold Molett and James William Molett and their families.

Mr. Hamlett was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Eola Semple Hamlett, a daughter, Eola Hamlett Seeman, a brother, Jim Jones Hamlett and one sister, Mary Frances Hamlett.
