Louise Robins Strother

Louise Robins Strother, 73, of. Selma, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004, at a local hospital

Graveside services are at 2 p.m., Friday, February 27, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rector Huey Gardner officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include, daughters, Louise Strother McEvoy of Camden and Robins Strother McMurtrie of Huntsville; sister, Grace Robins Schulte of Birmingham; grandchildren, Arnold Strother Holt, Sarah Robins McMurtrie, James Donald McEvoy, James Thompson McMurtie; niece, Grace Schulte Adamson; great-nephews, Andrew, Gregg and Jonathan Higgins; and numerous cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Bethea Strother.

Mrs. Strother, was the daughter of Louise Donald Robins and William Gregg, Robins, she was born in Fairfield, on August 2, 1930. As a girl she studied piano at the conservatory of music at Birmingham Southern, and later majored in music at the University of Montevallo. On Nov. 18, 1950, she married James B. Strother of Gastonburg. Their marriage produced two daughters. An accomplished pianist and gifted artist, Mrs. Strother shared her talents in many ways in the community. An avid conservationist, and active in the management of her families timber business, she later continued her education in forestry as well as art at Auburn University. Mrs. Strother was a national officer of Daughters of Founders and Patriots, and a member of Daughters of American Revolution, Daughters of American Colonists, and United Daughters of the Confederacy. Mrs. Strother enjoyed her family, the arts, the outdoors, and traveling her entire life. A devoted wife and loving mother, she will be missed by her family and friends.

Jamesella J. Bartholomew

Jamesella J. Bartholomew, 56, of Minneapolis, Minn., died Thursday, February 19, 2004.

Services are at 12 noon Friday, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with Pastor Nathaniel Holloway officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include hr mother, Lucille Wagner; two sons, Donald Leon Johnson and Michael Stallings; one sister, Billie Jean Johnson; aunt, Catherine Voice; uncle, Supt. Harrell Johnson; brother-in-law, Conrad Alston; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Lucille Mosley

Lucille Mosley, 87, of Orrville, died Sunday, February 22, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services are at11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, at Greater St. Paul Church. Burial will follow in White Cemetery (Hopewell) with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two sons, Willie L. (Meba) Mosley of Uper Marboro, Md., and Roosevelt Mosley (Bunice), PG County, Md.; one daughter, Gertrude L. McLean (W.D.) of High Flex, Va.; three brothers, Syrus Coleman, LemRoy Coleman and Mack Coleman Jr. of Birmingham; one sister, Virginia Reese; 10 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Glenn Irby

Glenn Irby, of New York, died Wednesday, February 18, 2004.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, February 28, at Beach Island Baptist Church with the Rev. Clinton Peeples officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include mother, Mattie Duncan; grandparent, Ida Roberson; two sons, Troy Owens ad Darren Owens; two daughters, April Hale and Tonya Bragg; two brothers, Louis Duncan and Jerome (Tammy) Hardy; four sisters, Selena (Fred) Webb, Joyce (Samuel) Bagg, Mary (Jerry) Brownlee and Lois Gray; one nephew; and four nieces.

Ruby Jane Williams Minniefield

Ruby Jane Williams Minniefield, 54, of Selma, died Monday, February 23, 2004, at a Montgomery hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 28, at Little Rock Baptist Church with the Rev. S.M. Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two daughters, Hope Minniefield and Kim Williams; two brothers, Johnny Jones Jr. and Cleveland Harold; one sister, Bettye Matthews; one grandchild, Keion Williams; two sisters-in-law, Atlean Roy and Alma Jones; one nephew; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers are Kintre Chess, Reginald Simmons, Lamont, Willie Edwards Carter, Chapman Smith, Willie Taylor and Cedric Anderson.

James Jackson Jr.

James Jackson Jr., 66, of Selma, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004.

Survivors include three nephews, Moses Harris Jr., Raphael Woods and Steve Shoals; two special great-nephews, Terry and Terrious Williams; one brother, Moses Harris Sr.; four nieces, Pearlicia (Terry) Williams, Myesha and Natasha Woods and Gwen (Keith) Davidson; one step-sister, Mary L. Shoals; and a special cousin, Mable L. Thomas.

Mary Heard

Mary Heard, 98, of Marion, died Friday, February, 20, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 28, at Marion Academy with the Rev. Roderick Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Heard Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two sons, Marvin Heard and John Heard; two daughters, Sylvia Harris and Alberta Young; 31 grandchildren; 95 great-grandchildren; and 58 great-great-grandchildren.

Robert Harrell

Robert Harrell, 75, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Wednesday, February 18, 2004, in Ohio.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 28, at Union Grove with the Rev. George Bennett officiating and Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include three daughters, Quintella Harrell and Marchina (Julius) Toodle both of Selma, and step daughter, Petrina (Steve) Allen; one brother, James (Jackie) Harrell; one sister, Charlotte Jackson of Selma; six grandchildren, Ericka Woodson, Khesa Harrell and Curtis Mitchell of Selma, Kerrod (Shunta) Harrell of Ft. Hood, Texas, Samson Allen and Sabelle Allen of Cincinnati, Ohio; two great-grandchildren, Kerrod J. Harrell of Birmingham and Tristen Woodson of Selma; special nephew, Percy &8220;Pete&8221; Harrell II.

Active pallbearers are family and friends.

Mr. Harrell, was born, June, 21, 1926, in Marion to the late Fred Harrell Sr. and Plura Toodle Harrell, He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Olive P.B. Church. He received his formal education in the Dallas County and Selma School System. In 1952 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and traveled throughout the country. In 1953 he married Lillie Butler. After 31 years of outstanding performance he retired from Cincinnati Water Works.

Mary K. Cook

Mary K. Cook, 84, of Eutaw, died Thursday, February 19, 2004, at a nursing home Eutaw.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 28, at Freehope Baptist Church in Boligee with the Rev. Willis Gulley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

Lula Quinney-Pouge

Lula Quinney-Pouge, 78, of Birmingham, formerly of Gallion, died Monday, February 23, 2004, at a nursing home in Birmingham.

Services are at 1 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church in Linden, with the Rev. Joseph Harper and the Rev. Lynn Finch officiating. Burial will follow in McKinley Memorial Gardens in Linden, with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

Joyce A. Franks

Joyce A. Franks, 73, died Wednesday, February 25, 2004.

Graveside services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, at Oakhill Cemetery in Lampasas, Texas, with the Rev. Roland Schaub officiating and Sheppard Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include, husband, Robert J. Franks of Lampasas, Texas; son, Robert C. Franks of Austin, Texas; sister, Hazel Hamilton of Selma; and a brother, Jimmy Gutherie of Selma.
