Dallas County High School’s head football coach, Tom Causey, is leaving the school to accept a head football coaching position with the Andalusia City School System, said Dallas County School Superintendent Wayne K. May Tuesday.

February 14 will be Causey’s last day at Dallas County High.

Causey leaves a program that went 10-2 during the 2002 football season and made the second round of the AHSAA playoffs. It is an amazing turnaround for the 2-8 team he took over in the spring of 2000 after a dismal 1999 football season.

May said that a search to replace Causey will begin immediately. He said he wants to bring a new coach here in time to implement the spring football training program.
