Gracie Martin Shaw

Gracie Martin Shaw, 92, of Selma, died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at her home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at Little Canaan P.B. Church with the Rev. James Beal officiating. Burial will follow in Fairlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two sons, Daniel (Barbara) Shaw and Arnee (June) Shaw of Brooklyn, N.Y. ; special grandson, William Sherman (Brenda) Powell; two daughters, Gracie Powell of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Cynthia Shaw of Selma; goddaughter, Janet Small of Brooklyn, N.Y.; two brothers, Isam (Willie Mae) Martin of Catherine and Harold Stanley Martin of Atlanta, Ga.; four sisters, Mertlene Perkins of Alberta, Laura McLure of Birmingham, Tina (August) Scott of Atlanta, Ga., and Loretta Moore of Birmingham; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one son-in-law; two daughters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers are Deacons of Little Canaan P.B. Church.

Willie McFowler

Willie McFowler, 77, of Dayton, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at a Tuscaloosa hospital.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Julia White Funeral Home.

Cynthia Marshall

Cynthia Marshall, 52, of Selma, died Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2003, at a local hospital.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, Jan. 18, at Tabernacle of Praise with the Rev. F.D. Reese officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Lewis Brothers Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include parents, Robert Mershall Sr., and Josie Marshall; one son, Toussaint Marshall of Selma; three daughters, Patricia Marshall, Wilma (Terry) Hall all of Selma and Suelly (Lorenzo) Hunter of Montgomery; three brothers, Ernest Marshall, Bob Marshall and Timothy Marshall all of Selma; two sisters, Gloria (John) Mabley of Coastville, Pa., and Glenda Hagood of Maryland.; 10 grandchildren; two sons-in-law; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; and four nephews.

Active pallbearers are family and friends.
