Shawnia Williams

Shawnia Williams, 24, of Selma, died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at a Birmingham hospital.

Services for Ms. Williams and her children, Shannon Williams, 8, and Llamaron Williams, 5, will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, at Shiloh Baptist Church on Selma Ave., with the Rev. Joshua Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Ms. Williams is survived by her mother, Patricia Davis; two daughters, Sha’Keria Dondell and Passion Williams; a grandfather, Roy Davis; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are uncles and cousins.

Services for Shannon and Llamaron were rescheduled from Saturday, Jan. 11, to Thursday, Jan. 16, so that they would coincide with that of their mother. Shannon’s and Llamaron’s obituaries ran Friday, Jan. 10.

John Thomas Chandler IV

John Thomas “Tommy” Chandler IV, 25, of Selma, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003.

Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Chappelle officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his mother, Becky Mott of Selma; step-father, Steve Mott of Selma; son, Tyler Batten of Selma; two brothers, Dale McVay of Selma and Jeremy Chandler of Oklahoma; grandparents, Jessie Barrett and the late Blake Barrett, J.T. (Martha) Chandler of Selma, and Linda Dudley; uncles, Randy (Anita) Barrett of Billingsley, Eddie Barret of Selma, Mike (Margaret) Chandler of Selma, and James Chandler; two aunts, Annice (Johnny) Smith of Cynthiana, Ky., and Libby (Larry) Mott of Selma; and a number of cousins and nephews.

Active pallbearers were Randy Barrett, Eddie Barrett, Todd McCullough, Mark Smith, Edwin Thornton and Rodney McVay.

Mr. Chandler accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a member of Central Baptist Church on Sunday, Jan. 5, 2003.
