Sylvia Dean Ingram Smith

Sylvia Dean Ingram Smith, 63, of Sprott, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004, at a local hospital.

Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 8, at Open Door Faith Baptist Church with the Pastor Gervis Smith and Rev. Calvin Strickland officiating. Burial will follow in Payne Chapel Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes of Marion directing.

Survivor include five daughters, Judy Mitchell of Sprott, Sharlene (Royce Jr.) Riley of Selma, Patricia (Kent) Watson of Sprott, Shirley Smith and Debra Smith both of Sprott; two sisters, Patricia (Ernest) Barton of Sprott and Bonnis Mitchell of Selma and nine grandchildren.

Active pallbearers are Frank Mitchell, Glenn Huey, and the Men of Open Door Baptist Church.

Honorary pallbearers are doctors, nurses, and staff of Montgomery Cancer Center of Selma, Dr. Shane Lee and staff of Marion Clinic, Bruce Ingram, William Mitchell, James Mitchell, Ernest Barton, Royce Riley Jr. and Robert Riley.

William Jacob Caver

William Jacob Caver, 81, of Jones, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 8, at Evergreen Baptist Church in Evergreen Community, with the Rev. Steve Sheridan and Dr. Rick Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.

Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law, Vasser and Ann Caver of Billingsley, Jeff and Kathy Caver of Prattville, Jake and Dorothy Caver of Selma and Larry and Ruby Jo Caver of Statesville; ; 12 grandchildren, Billy Caver, Ray Caver, Robin Caver, Michael Caver, Cindy Caver Moore, Adam Caver, Allen Caver, Jeaneane Nichols, Eric Dameron, Brandon Caver, Jody Caver, and Gregory Caver; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Lura Caver Smith and brother-in-law, Thomas Smith of Prattville,

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Edith Vasser Caver.

Active pallbearers are

grandsons.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to one’s favorite charity.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.

The body will lie in state at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the service.

James Harvey Holloway Jr.

James Harvey Holloway Jr., 75, of Sweet Water, died Monday, January 5, 2004, at a healthcare facility.

Services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 8 at Sweet Water Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Paynes Chapel Cemetery in Dixon Mills, with O’Bryant Chapel Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her sister, Pauline Huckabee of Sweet Water; brother, Beck Holloway of Sweet Water; sister-in-law Mildred Holloway of Selma; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Harvey Holloway and Daisy Lee Lynn Holloway, and a brother, Alvin Holloway.
