Dixon is Hornets ‘quiet’ leader

He’s the quiet guy who doesn’t clamor for the public attention, but it would be hard to do anything without him.

Donovan Dixon runs the point for the Dallas County Hornets basketball team almost like he ran the offense for the Hornets football team this past season, behind the scenes.

He is a quiet player that would rather talk about a team effort than his performance any day, and would rather be a leader on the field or court than the player who gets all the attention. He is the guy who leads the team in points or rebounds, but he gets the job done when it needs to be.

After watching his brother play for years, and always hearing how good his brother was Dixon decided to play basketball. Dixon’s brother was standout at Dallas County, and went on to play for four years at UAB.

To be the player behind the scenes can sometimes be more difficult than being the player out in front. Having to be the glue that holds the team together can be a tremendous amount of pressure on any player.

After watching his brother play for years Dixon decided to start playing basketball when he was in the 7th grade. Basketball has come to be the sport that he enjoys most of all.
