Senators prepare for Lee Scott

The Morgan Academy Senators take on Lee Scott Friday night in the first round of the playoffs, in what should be a war.

The Senators and Lee Scott both enter the game with records of 7-3 and seem to be evenly matched in every aspect of the game. The Senators have played most of their games close this year, and this one should be no different.

The Senators have been anchored by a strong running attack all year, and they look for much of the same on Friday night. Owen Peak and Robert Collins have carried much of the load for the Senators on the ground this year. Peak has picked up 954 yards on the ground this year, and Collins has come on strong at the end of the season coming close to the 500 yard mark. Travis Lyons at the quarterback spot has been good on the ground all year when given the chance, and has carried for 610 yards this season.

The Morgan defense will have to come up big Friday night. They have been able to play well all year, and come up with the big stops when necessary.

Both teams have had a chance to see each other on film, and will be expecting certain formations out of each other.

If the Senators can execute their game plan they should be able to come out on top of Lee Scott on Friday night. &uot;We will need Lyons to execute the offense, and the offensive line to come up big,&uot; said Gartman.

The Morgan Academy Senators will host Lee Scott in the first round of the playoffs Friday night at 7:30.
