Mary J. Millhouse

Mary J. Millhouse, 88, of Selma, died Saturday, November 1, 2003, at a local hospital.

Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 7, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home with the Rev. Albert C. Curry officiating. Burial will follow in follow in Fairlawn Memory Gardens Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include one brother, Pauldo (Lucy B) Smith of Selma; one sister, Ara Bell Williams of Anniston; granddaughter, Paula (Herman) Dawson of Mitchellville, Md.; grandson, Andra Jones of Sterling, Va.; three great-grandchildren; nephew, Pauldo R. Smith of Alelphia, Md.; niece, Annie Judkins of Oakland, Calif. A devoted employer, Agnes Strickland of Selma and a host of cousins and friends.

Ms. Millhouse was preceded in death by her husband, William Millhouse, parents, Jerry and Sally Jones, and a son, John Lewis Jones.

Active pallbearers are the Chesterfield Club.

Jim C. Beaver

Jim C. Beaver, 66, of Selma, died Monday, November 3, 2003, at his home.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 6, at New Live Oak Cemetery with full military honors and the Rev. Linda Tarver officiating with Selma Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Joann Davis Beaver of Selma; daughter, Becky Irwin of Selma; sister, Geraldine Slagle of Jefferson City, Tenn.; one sister-in-law, Eloise (Ferris) Trammel of Selma; three grandchildren, Justin Clarke Irwin, Jordan Leigh Irwin and Joanna Shelby Irwin all of Selma.

Active pallbearers will be military.

Honorary pallbearers are Bill Boyd, Andy Andrews, Dr. Parke Chittom II, John T. Haskell, Leonard Ingram, Earl Irwin, Russell Haskell and Richard Trammel.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, at Selma Funeral Home.

Ida Woods Ford

Ida Woods Ford, 94, of Selma, died Sunday, November 2, 2003, at a local hospital.

Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 8, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home.

Family visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, at Lawrence Funeral Home.

Survivors will be announced later.

Aline Mosley Egbert

Aline Mosley Egbert, 89 of Selma, died Sunday, November 3, 2003, at a local hospital.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, at the Thomaston Cemetery with the Rev. Travis Barnes officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include sons, Clayton J. (Mary) Egbert of Selma and Clarence W. (Jessie) Egbert of York; daughters, Clariece E. Perdue and Ruth E. Jones both of Selma; sister, Oneida Flowers of Thomaston; 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Egbert was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence C. Egbert, daughters, Evelyn E. Thomas and Joyce E. Bedsole, and two granddaughters, Sandy B. Clements and Cindy B. Milstead.

Active pallbearers are grandsons, Mark Thomas, John Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Bruce Perdue, Mitchell Perdue, Billy Bedsole, James Badger, Scott Egbert, Jason Egbert, Tony Egbert, Chris Egbert and Greg Egbert.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests be made to one’s favorite charity.

Dora Starnes Bagby

Dora Starnes Bagby, 85, of Elberta, formerly of Vine Hill, died Sunday, October 19, 2003, at a nursing home in Foley.

Services were at 10 a.m. Friday, October 24, at the Chapel of Bayview Funeral Home of Foley with graveside services at 3 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Selma, with Bayview Funeral Home directing and Selma Funeral Home assisting.

Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl (Russell) Reeves of Foley and Kathy Bagby of Lillian; two sons, David (Judy) Bagby of Selma and Jonathan (Barbara) Bagby of O’Fallon, Ill.; sister; Josephine Busch of Bell, Fla.; six grandchildren, Mundi B. Ingram of Hawthorne, Nev., Chuck Bagby of Selma, Megan Bagby of O’Fallon, Ill., Bo Bagby of Belleville, Ill., Chris Rogers and Dawn Rogers of Summerdale; six great-grand children, Mandi Hines of Selma, Joshua Collins of Oklahoma, Chad Bagby and Holly Bagby of Selma, Maggie Ingram of Nevada and Ewan Bagby of Belleville, Ill.; two great-great grandchildren; Michaela Hines and Lizzie Hines of Selma.

Mrs. Bagby, was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Charles D. Bagby, Sr.

Family visitation was from 6-8 p.m. at Bayview Funeral Home in Foley.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society of the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mrs. Bagby was a member First Presbyterian Church of Gulf Shores.
