Edward M. Alsbrook

Edward M. Alsbrook, 84, of Selma, died Tuesday, Oct. 29, 2002, at a local nursing home.

Graveside services are at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, at New Live Oak Cemetery with Judge Johnny Jones officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include daughters, Delories Criswell and Dorothy Pugh both of Selma; a brother, Pinckney Austin Alsbrook Jr. of Selma; sisters, Marie Elias of Tucson, Ariz., and Earline Green of Mobile; grandchildren, Boyd E. Pugh, Cindy Dailey, Randy Pugh and Steve Criswell; great-grandchildren, Will Dailey, Walter Dailey, James Dailey, Quinton Pugh, Summer Pugh, Kevin Pugh, Aaron Pugh, Lauren Criswell and Joshua Criswell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Earline Alsbrook.

Active pallbearers are grandsons, Will Dailey, Walter Dailey, Quinton Pugh, Steve Criswell, Randy Pugh and Alan Dailey.

Annie Jemison

Annie Jemison, 89, of Boligee, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2002 at a hospital in Eutaw.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at St. James Baptist Church in Boligee, with the Rev. Arthur Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Luke Cemetery in Boligee with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home of Demopolis directing.

Sara Nell Boyer Wackerle

Sara Nell Boyer Wackerle, 74, of Aberdeen, Miss., formerly of Selma, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2002 at a hospital in Aberdeen, Miss.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Father Carroll Plourde officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with the Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her daughter, Nancy Camp (Jerry) of Aberdeen, Miss.; a son, Andrew L. Wackerle Jr. (Kathy) of Anniston; grandchildren, Jessie Camp, Drew Wackerle and Mary Catherine Wackerle; and a sister, Anna Bridges of Burnsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew L. Wackerle St.

Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Wackerle was born on Mar. 28, 1928 in Guntown, Miss. She moved to Selma at a very early age. She was a retired nurse, she worked at many area hospitals including King Memorial, Selma Baptist, Good Samaritan and Selma Medical Center. Mrs. Wackerle was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Korean conflict having served in the Aleutian Islands as a Registered Nurse.

Bronell Godwin Harris

Bronell Godwin Harris, 76, of Selma, died Saturday, Oct. 26, 2002 at her home.

Services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Norman Williams officiating. Burial followed in Pineview Memory Gardens Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Felix Coy Harris of Selma; a son, Richard Coy Harris of Crestview, Fla.; a daughter, Linda Harris Denton of Hope Hull; a brother, Rufus Daniel Godwin of Selma; a sister, Fannie Dell Godwin Williams of Calera; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Active pallbearers were Blake Willis, Ellis McIntyre Jr., Trey McIntyre, Austin Bradford, Tommy Beach and Davy McLean.
