Lillian Lett Harris
Lillian Lett Harris, Daphne, formerly of Conecuh, died Tuesday, October 13, 2003, at a healthcare facility.
Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 18, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses in Fairhope, with Wolfe Funeral Home, 329 So. Greeno Rd., in Fairhope directing.
Survivors include seven sons, Willie (Mary) Harris of Eight Mile, John (Marilyn) Harris of Selma, Curtis R. (Cassandra) Harris of Huntsville, Anthony L. Harris of Selma, Henry C. (Aniese) Harris of Bay Minette, Kenneth B. (Pegan) Harris of Birmingham and Darrell A. Harris of Daphne; eight daughters, Elnora Gill of Mobile, Freddie Mae (Johnny) Young of Daphne, Jean Marie (Leonard) Dupree of Hattiesburg, Miss., Lizzie K. Harris of Daphne, Dorothy E. (Leo) Dixon of Baton Rouge, La., Alice R. Harris of Daphne, Helen L. Harris of Daphne and Betty L. (Floyd) Blevins of Selma; 36 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Luverne (Dessie) Harris Craft of Panama City, Fla., and Pauline Harris of Maryland; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Harris was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Roosevelt Harris.
Family visitation will be from 1-2
p.m. on Saturday, at the Kingdom Hall.
James Fletcher Beckmann
James Fletcher Beckmann, 57, of South Pittsburg, Tenn., died Sunday, October 12, 2003, in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Services are at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 16, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. Randy Tanner officiating. Burial will follow in Plantersville Baptist Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife Linda Lavon Beckmann of South Pittsburg, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Shirley Brunson of Selma and Sarah Willoughby of Biloxi, Miss.; nieces and nephews, John W. Brunson, Thomas Earl Brunson, Ruth Boozer Mitch Willoughby, Dorothy Willoughby and Jack Willoughby; great-nieces and nephews, Whitney Hawkins, Brandy Brunson, Shane Boozer, Dawn Willoughby and James Willoughby.
Active Pallbearers are David Boroughs, John Brunson, Thomas Brunson, Bill White, David Burris and Jack Willoughby.
Ruth Cooper
Ruth Cooper, of Selma, died Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at a Birmingham hospital.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18, at Barrett Road United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors will be announced at a later date.
Family visitation will be at the church on Saturday, from 10 -11 a.m.
L. B. Jones Sr.
L. B. Jones Sr., 78, of Selma, died Tuesday, October 14, 2003, at a local hospital.
Services are at 10 a.m. Friday, October 17, at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with the Rev. James Farrow officiating. Burial will follow in New Live Oak Cemetery with Lawrence Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Nell Jones; sons, Fred Jones and L.B. Jones Jr. (Cherry); grandchildren, Tammy Sellers, Jennifer Revell, Tiffany Maxwell, Jeff Jones, Matt Jones, Billy Jones and Ashley Jones; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are members of Selma Lodge #926.
Family visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Mr. Jones was a fire chief for the Selma Fire Department and retired after 31 years of service. Bro. Jones was a Master Mason with 38 years of service who has served as an Anchor to the Masonic Order in Selma. He has been affiliated with Central City Lodge #305 since June 1965 where he served as Worshipful Master and later with the Selma Masonic Lodge #926 where he served as Tiler of the Lodge. He also served as a member of the Selma Masonic Temple Association Board.
