The Keith High Bears fell a little short Friday night against Billingsley losing at home 47-32. The Bears got behind early in the third quarter allowing Billingsley to score on their first three possessions of the third quarter.

Billingsley opened the scoring with a 60 yard drive on their opening possession, and were able to punch the ball into the end-zone. The ensuing extra point was good to make the score 7-0.

Keith turned around and answered Billingsley’s opening drive with a 70 yard drive that culminated with a 20 yard touchdown pass from Glenn Hunter to Marcus Tabb. The two-point conversion was converted by Tim Gaines to give Keith their only lead of the night at 8-7.

Billingsley put up the next two scores’ one coming on a long drive that ended with a touchdown, and the other coming on a 50 yard interception return for a touchdown.

Keith finally got on the board again on a 16 yard touchdown pass from Hunter to Jimmy Richardson. The two-point conversion was converted by Emit Dukes to make the score 24-16 at the half. Things only got worse for the Bears in the second half.

Billingsley came out, and scored on their first three possessions and left the Bears in a position they could not recover from.

The Bears managed to score four touchdowns, and convert all of their two-point conversion attempt’s but it wasn’t enough in the end result as Billingsley went on to win 47-32.

The leaders on the offensive side for the Bears were Emit Dukes who carried the ball 12 times for a 125 yards, and two touchdowns. Jimmy Richardson had eight carries for 81 yards and a touchdown. Glen Hunter completed two out of eight passes for 35 yards, and had two touchdowns.

Defensively for the Bears Victor Carson led the way with 14 tackles.

The Bears drop to 2-5 for the year, and they take on Highland Home next week on the road at 7:30.
