Ocie Perryman

Ocie Perryman, 70, of Tyler, died Monday, October 6, 2003, at a local hospital.

Services are at 12 noon Saturday, October 11, at New Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with the Rev. Herman Crittendon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Jean Kearney; one daughter, Ossia Lean Horn; three brothers, Willie Perryman, Alex Perryman and Jerry Evans; 13 sisters, Savannah Williams, Margaret Smith, Louise Perryman, Geraldine Moorer, Lola Hale, Cassie Richardson, Elizabeth Evans, Catherine Richardson all of Selma, Mallissa Blount of Brooklyn, N.Y., Gloria Berry of Chicago, Ill., Annie Fairbanks of Birmingham, Louise Garrett of South Carolina, Katherine Kennedy of Ohio; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one son-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews; one uncle, Frank Perryman; one aunt, Louvonia Cooke.

Active pallbearers are nephews and friends.

Marcus Cistrunk

Marcus Cistrunk, 18, of Forkland, died Friday, October 3, 2003.

Services are at 2 p.m. Saturday, October 11, at Eutaw High School Gym in Eutaw, with the Rev. Joe Allen officiating. Burial will follow in New Fellowship Cemetery in Boligee, with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.

The body will lie in state at the Gym on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m.

Wilson Haynes

Wilson Haynes, 67, of Selma, died Saturday, October, 4, 2003.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 11, at Old Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. Larry Blakes Sr. officiating. Burial will follow in Todd Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Haynes; two sons, Joe Little of New York and Henry Hedgeman Jr. of Miami, Fla.; two daughters, Jeanetta Knox of Montgomery and Deloris Grice of Greensboro; brothers, Robert Haynes Jr. of Selma, Russell (Jewel) Haynes of Detroit, Mich., James Caffey (Thelma) of Miami, Fla.; four sisters, Dora Crosby of Montgomery, Ruby Haynes and Rosie (James) McGrew of Selma, and Betsy Haynes of California; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven brothers-in-law nine sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Geneva Smart-Thomas

Geneva Smart-Thomas, died Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at her home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 11, at Shady Grove M.B. Church in Uniontown with Julia White Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirlean (Andy Brown) Smart and Michelle (Cedric ) Hunter of Selma; four sons, Joe (Michelle) Bennett, Nathaniel Bennett, Terry (Velma Longmire) Bennett and Sherman Bennett all of Selma; two sisters, Lee Esther (Leroy) McKeller of Thomasville and Leola (Clarence) Ford of Uniontown; three brothers, James Smart, Theo (Lucinda) Smart, Robert (Everlyn Ray) Smart all of Selma; nine grandchildren, Levelle Smart, Nicole Smart, Rashif Bennett, Martrina Smart, Kevin Smart, Jarold Myers, Jonicia Bennett, Jadakiss Thomas and CJ Hunter all of Selma; one uncle, Willie (Arelia) Moore of Birmingham; a devoted ex-husband, Samuel Thomas of Selma; a half sister, Viola Reese of Uniontown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Annie Mae Smart, J B Smart and William Smart.

Family visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smart was born on April 10, 1946, to the late James and Hannah Smart in Perry County. She was the eighth child of nine. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined Shady Grove M.B. Church under the leadership of the late Rev. I.C. Acoff.

Mary Alice S. Klinner

Mary Alice S. Klinner, 79, of Selma, died Tuesday, October 7, 2003, at a nursing home.

Graveside services were at 10 a.m. Friday, October 9, at New Live Oak Cemetery with the Rev. Art Hartley officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include a son, C.R. Klinner; a stepson, C.L. Klinner of Mobile; daughters, Judy Wright and Elizabeth Crane; grandchildren, Paul Crane, Jake (Mary Jo) Wright, Isaac (Minge) Wright and Nicole Crane; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn King, Mallory Wright, Kayla Wright and Nancy Wright; brother, M.E. (Frances) Summerlin; nephews, Bucky and David Summerlin; niece, Debbie Smith; great-nephews, Mike Benton, Kenny Benton and Randy Benton.

She was preceded by in death by a her husband of 61 years, Robert C. Klinner and two grandsons, Wayne D. (Bo) Crane and Sean Evan.
