Annie Lloyd Jatko

Annie Lloyd Jatko, 83, of Selma, died Monday, September 29, 2003, at a local nursing home.

Services are at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Chapel of Martin Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Methodist Church Cemetery in Thorsby, with Martin Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include three sons, Elmer Jatko of Decatur, Thomas Jatko of Anniston and Allen Jatko of Selma; six daughters, Priscilla Robinson of Clanton, Linda Inge of Holtville, Norma Lawrence of Selma, Peggy Riley of Verbena, Ruth Jones and Karen Dukes both of Prattville; son-in-law, David Ponzer; 24 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Rev. Virgil Pino

Rev. Virgil Pino, 81, of Faunsdale, died Wednesday, October 1, 2003, at a Demopolis hospital.

Services are at 11 a.m. Friday, October 3, at Uniontown Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Cecil Williamson officiating. Burial will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 4, in Ripley City Cemetery, Ripley, Miss., with Kidd-Robins Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife Patricia Cousar Pino of Faunsdale; one son, Lee J. Pino of Hogansville, Ga.; one foster son, Bobby (Brenda) Gibson of Calera; two sisters, Hortense Shepard and Rose Corral of Tampa, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Jan Corsar of Ripley, Miss.; other survivors include Overton Gibson of Selma, Devere Gibson of Birmingham and Terry Gibson of Huntsville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers are Amzi McKee, Patrick Rankin, Brooks Rankin, Robert McKee, Cray Belcher and Terry Gibson, Richey Cousar, Donnie Cousar, Joe Pino and Jason Scott.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. B.C. Merkle – officers of Faunsdale, Gastonburg and Uniontown Presbyterian Churches.

Family visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, at Kidd-Robins Funeral Home.

Rev. Pino was a native of Tampa, Fla., and a resident of Faunsdale and Uniontown for 43 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He attended college for four years and Seminary for three years. Rev. Pino wasn’t only a Presbyterian minister. He was a saint, loved by all that ever knew him. He will be greatly missed. His love and the person he was will never be forgotten.
