Herman Clark

Herman Clark, 50, of Selma, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002, in Selma.

Services are at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at the Chapel of Miller Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his wife, Michelle Clark; two sons, Herman Derrico and Lamarco Clark; one stepson, Herman Brewer; one daughter, Tawanna Clark; four brothers, J.W. Clark Jr., Legene Clark, Jeffery and Michael Clark; seven sisters, Patricia Aaron, Equilla Milhouse, Camellia Clark, Alethea Pleasant, Rosie Abraham, Pamela Clark and Glenda Swift; eight grandchildren; one son-in-law; four sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; 10 nieces; 10 nephews; and other relatives, Evans Duncan, Evelyn Leshore, Belinda Bivens and Hosea Clark.

Mr. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Clark.

Bondy Roy Chambers

Bondy Roy Chambers, of Ft. Deposit, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002.

Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Antioch AME Zion Church with the Rev. Leslie Stallworth Sr. officiating. Burial followed in Roper Cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Helen D. Stackhouse

Helen D. Stackhouse, of Greenville, died Monday, Sept. 2, 2002.

Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Sweet Home AME Zion Church with the Rev. Algia Edwards officiating. Burial followed in the churchyard cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Beverly Reese Williams

Beverly Reese Williams, of Montgomery, died Sunday, Sept. 1, 2002.

Services were at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 7, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Otis Smith and the Rev. Willie D. Lewis officiating. Burial followed in Zion Cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, James Williams Jr.; three children, Shonda Lavon Reese, Depree-Dontae Reese and Antwann Dion Reese; mother, Mary A. Lewis; father, John T. Baker Sr.; three sisters, Mary L. Lawrence, Cathy Lewis (Tim) Goodson and Rita A. (Charles) Walker; five brothers, John A. (LaRia) Perryman, Joseph J. (Annie Pearl) Lewis, Arthur (Brenda) Lewis, Kenneth (Barbara) Lewis and John T. Baker; mother-in-law, Patsy Williams; three sisters-in-law, Patricia, Karen and Teresa Williams; one brother-in-law, Courtney Williams; 12 aunts; nine uncles; 10 nieces; eight nephews; one godson, Montero; two special cousins, Carolyn Davis and Rosie A. Gordon; three devoted friends, Linda (Rev. John Smoke), Patricia A. Jordan and Emma D. Hargrove.

Mamie L. Thomas

Mamie L. Thomas, 80, of Selma, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at a Montgomery hospital.

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church with Dr. L.L. Ruffin officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her mother, Fannie McIntosh; one son, Leslie Charles Thomas (Vickie); two daughters, Lillie Mae Masby (Charles) and Lee Anna Brantley (Daniel Sr.); one brother-in-law; a devoted cousin, Jessie Burton; a lifetime friend, Margaret Kahn; will be forever loved and cherished by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Active pallbearers are family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons.

Flowerbearers are Mt. Ararat M.B. Church Women’s Missionary Society.

Ms. Thomas was a member of Mt. Ararat M.B. Church and a dedicated member of the Women Missionary Society. She was employed at American Candy Company for 44 years, until she retired.

Sallie L. Montgomery

Sallie L. Montgomery, 87, of Selma, died Thursday, Sept. 5, 2002, at a local nursing home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by J. H. Williams and Sons Funeral Home.

Randall Wade Fondren

Randall Wade Fondren, 40, of Columbiana died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2002, at Shelby Memorial Hospital.

Services are at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at Mt. Pleasant Church with the Revs. Arthur thomas and Thomas Fondren officiating. Burial will be in Mr. Pleasant Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes of Marion directing.

Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 8, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Kirk Funeral Homes of Marion.

Survivors include his mother, Ruth Elaine Fondren of Marion; a daughter, Lacy Fondren of Cullman; a brother, Johnny Wayne Fondren of Tuscaloosa; and a sister, Tammy Bracknell of Greensboro.
