Goshen knocks Bears out

The Keith High Bears dropped their first region game Friday night to Goshen 34-14.

Goshen took their first possession of the game and marched 70 yards down the field to pick up the first score of the night, and set the tone for the rest of the evening.

Goshen used three backs that managed to run at will on the Bears for most of the evening.

On Keith’s second possession of the game they managed to take advantage of a short field, and Jimmy Richardson caught a 40 yard pass to put the ball on the Goshen 15 yard line . Then Tim Gaines took the ball in for a 15 yard touchdown run on a sweep around the left end, and the two point conversion failed to make the score 8-6. That was as close as the Keith High Bears managed to get all night to Goshen.

For the rest of the game Goshen used their strong running game, and their standout defense to keep the Bears in check.

Goshen picked up one more score in the first half to make the score 15-6.

In the second half Goshen scored on three out of their first four possessions to make the score 34-6 going into the fourth quarter.

Late in the fourth quarter Keith managed to pick up their last score of the game on a Emit Dukes 41 yard run to make the final score 34-14.

The big rusher for the night for Keith was Emit Dukes picking up 120 yards on 14 carries. Tim Gains picked up 50 yards on seven carries.

Defensively for the Bears Corey Martin had 16 tackles, and Emit Dukes picked had 15.
