Johnny Ree Rembert Jr.
Johnny Ree &uot;Strawman&uot; Rembert Jr., 54, of Rome, Ga.; died Thursday, August 28, 2003, at a healthcare facility.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 6, at Ellwood Community Church with Pastor Gary Crum officiating. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Mae Rembert; mother, Mattie Rembert; two sons, Larry Darnell Rembert Sr. (Arlene) and Darron Cordell Rembert; four daughters, Sheila Sherman (Lynn Sr.), Barbara Ann Johnson, Melinda Rembert Neeley (Clarence Jr.), and Denise Loachelle Rembert; four brothers, Tommie Lee Rembert Sr. (Emma), Clyde Rembert (Loretta), Willie Rembert and Erick Rembert (Pam); 14 sisters, Velma Rembert, Mary Ann Rembert, Lydia Rembert, Geneen Arnold (Rudy), Lilliah Rembert Robinson, Renee Smith (William), Veronica Witherspoon (John), Yolanda Rembert, Daphne Rembert, Stephanie Rembert, Auntee Lewis (Lorenza), Nadine Rembert, Aretha Rembert and Tiffany Rembert; 11 grandchildren; four grandchildren; two sons-in-law; one daughter-in-law; seven brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives; two special cousins, Ida Lou Austin and Elizabeth Olds (Rady).
Active pallbearers are family and friends.
Anthony Tucker Sr.
Anthony Tucker Sr., 48, of Selma, died Saturday, August 30, 2003, at a local hospital.
Services are at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at Ellwood Community Church with Pastor Gary L. Crum officiating. Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens Cemetery with Miller Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include his wife, Lola T. Tucker; six sons, Delgraco (Tyneshia) Fortune, Anthony (Danielle) Tucker Jr., Michael Tucker, Jason Tucker, Lawrence Smith and David Smith; two daughters, Angela Scott and Danielle Smith; one brother, Thomas Palmer Tucker; six grandchildren; two daughters-in-law; one brother-in-.law; three sisters-in-law; one nephew; four nieces; aunt, Willie Mae Kiser and a host of other relatives and friends; special friend, Kozetta Watkins.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorna E. Tucker.
Rosa Bell Wiley
Rosa Bell Wiley, 88, of Lowndesboro, died Thursday, August 28, 2003.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 6, at Baptist Hill Baptist Church on Hwy. 99. Burial will follow in the Lowndesboro Cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.
Survivors include five daughters, Mary Howard, Ida (Harold) Smith Elizabeth ( Eddie) Gibbs all of Cleveland, Ohio, Jannie Stewart and Betty (David) Brooks both of Montgomery; three sons, Min. Alexander Wiley of Louisville, Ky., Bill (Rosie) Wiley of Montgomery and John (Luella) Wiley of Dayton, Ohio; sister-in-law, Mary Manniken of Cleveland, Ohio; 45 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews; friend, Sarah Robinson; and two devoted friends of the family, Amanda Scott and Doris Smith both of Cleveland, Ohio.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service.
Mary Essex
Mary Essex, 89, of Demopolis, died Wednesday, September 3, 2003, at a Demopolis hospital.
Services are at 1 p.m. Saturday, September 6, at Friendship Baptist Church, Demopolis, wit the Rev. Henry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Larkin and Scott Funeral Home directing.
The body will lie in state at the church on Saturday, beginning at 12 noon.
Dudley Lucus
Dudley Lucus, 86, of Demopolis died Saturday, August 30, 2003, at his home.
Services are at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 7, at Friendship Baptist Church with the Rev. Henry Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Bell Funeral Home directing.
The body will lie in state at the church on Sunday, beginning at 1 p.m.
