With week one under the Keith High Bears’ belt, they get ready to take on their first region challenge of the year Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Orville against Goshen.
Goshen dropped its season opener to Daleville 14-0 last Friday night. Keith High won their season opener 34-8 thanks to a strong defensive performance against A.L. Johnson .
With this being the Bears’ first region game of the year they plan to stay focused on the task at hand.
Keith looks to a strong proven rushing attack, and a stingy defense to be the key factor in Fridays game against Goshen.
Victor Carson had 16 tackles and three sacks last Friday night. Jimmy Richardson had 12 tackles, two of them were for a loss, and Corey Martin finished the game with 10 tackles.
The offensive attack for the Bears consisted of a strong running game anchored by Emit Dukes and Tim Gaines, who combined for more than 300 yards of offense.
In the game against Goshen, Crum isn’t ready to tip his hat just yet on the offensive game plan.
The running game should not be a problem with Dukes rushing for 186 yards, and Gaines picking up another 130 last Friday night against A.L. Johnson.
