Better luck next time: Macon East shuts down Meadowview

Meadowview Christian got their first taste of real game action Friday night in a scrimmage game against Macon East, and they came up short, losing 21-0.

In the first half, it was more of a defensive struggle with Macon East leading Meadowview 8-0 early in the third quarter.

A turnover on downs gave Macon East the ball on Meadowview’s 29 yard line with first and ten. On second and four Macon East scored on a quarterback keeper, Meadowview blocked the extra point extending the Macon East lead to 14-0.

Another turnover on downs by Meadowview gave Macon East the ball on the Meadowview 38 yard line, and puts Macon in scoring position. A pass play by Macon East for 15 yards set up first and ten on the Meadowview 18 yard line. Macon east then runs the ball down to the Meadowview one making it first an goal. Macon punches it in from the one making the score 21-0 Macon East.

Andy Osborne, and John Bender gave Meadowview their first real scoring opportunity in the second half, each breaking off runs that put Meadoview on Macon’s 20 yard line. On third and 10 Meadowview threw an interception with under a minute to play, and Macon East ran out the clock to make the final score 21-0.
